Your hair looks great. I've a consultation with a hair specialist in the next few weeks. I'm a bit nervous though if she/he suggest that I should go on Finasteride. I've read many reviews on it and some of the side effects that can some from it, concern me. What has your or anyone else's experience been like on it?

Hey youngguyhairloss,

I think I've just started, after 3 months, to see some regrowth. Before that I went through a big shedding from day 45 to day 90 I think. No side effects at all for the moment. I hope my hair keeps improving. I'm already dreaming about my future hair cut lol

Here is a photo without flash taken today :

Hair is so dark and thick looks like you spray painted it lol. Good job man keep it up.

As I said absolutely no side effects after a little bit more than 3 months on finasteride.

lol thank you TD500, but actually I think my hair on this picture looks better than it is, my scalp is still showing when my hair is wet on the crown and even when it's dry you can see a little bit of scalp but no one noticed yet. Do you think I'll have a full head of hair before the year mark? Oh and I'd be very grateful if someone answer my previous question about cigarettes !

I haven't posted pictures of my hairline yet so here's one :

I think the big issue is the crown, the hairline has always been okay. Maybe thinning a little bit but it doesn't bother me

It's been 4 months now since I started finasteride and last month has been very hard. I'm shedding a lot of hair, both thick and thin, and I feel like I'm returning to baseline...

Little update after a little bit more than 4 months... I'm going through hard times... I don't see progress anymore, my hair are still shedding and I feel like I'm loosing ground.

Here are pictures :

As you can see there are thin and small hair on my temples, I don't know if they are miniaturized hair or if they are new and will get thicker...

Feel free to comment

From reading other people's experiences perhaps your just going through one of those sheds cycles making the incoming hairs stronger / thicker ... I'm getting closer to three months and although the areas of thinning hair still look thin I believe my overall hair quality has gotten better

Maybe... Only time will tell.. Some friends noticed my hair loss for the first time yesterday, it never happened before and it doesn't feel great haha. Wish you the best man !

Well, 6 months mark.. still shedding and I think I'm below baseline but I'm not sure. What's certain is that I'm not really satisfied for the moment and I thought that things would have been way better than it is after 6 months of treatment.

Some people in the same situation and for whom things turned well?

Same boat as you my hair is short and I can still notice accelerated shedding and my hairline appears weaker on 4 months of finasteride

In my case I have noticed that parts of my hair has obviously gotten thicker / darker , although the areas on my head that have been miniaturizing continue to stay thin... Everything looks off balanced and patchy and I have been experiencing a shed I'm hopeful for the 6 month mark and I'll post a update on my thread ... Has your hair been getting thicker all at once or only in areas at a time like mine ?

As I said I'm not sure that my hair are thicker than 6 months ago so I cant really answer your question. What is certain is that I'm seeing new hair growing on the front. I don't know when the shedding is going to stop but I hope I'll be happy at the 1 year mark ..

I shed easily 150 hair per day. It's weird because the hair I shed are very thick in general and the hair on my head are thick too but it looks like some hair are missing, not thinner, but really missing.

I bought LaserComb, I hope it will help.

Hello everyone,

I'm back.

Long story short: after not getting the results I wanted, I got impatient and made the stupid decision to let down my hair and get a hair system. It was great for a year and a half then I got tired of not being comfortable when I was sweating, swimming or when I had sex. The main event that made me throw away the system was when my 7 closest friends rented a house for one week this summer in Croatia and I had to make up an excuse for not going just because I was afraid it would get noticeable there. Very very frustrating. Anyway, one month ago I decided to drop the system, get SMP and pull off a buzzed head as my new hair style.

After dropping stupidly finasteride and all treatments for about 8 months (then I realised It won't kill me to at least take one pill a day while wearing the system) and covering my scalp with glue and plastic every month, I'd say I now have as much hair as I had the first time I posted a photo here, but a lot of those hair got really thin. I might try to post photos later but the hair loss is hardly noticeable now that I had SMP done.

The good thing is I graduated and became an engineer in Switzerland with a strong revenue. Unfortunately, I won't spend it in cars and houses like my co-workers but in hair transplants and treatments. So here is my current regimen since one month, ranked by order of importance :

-Pray for Tsuji releasing his solution in 2020 as many times possible a day

-Dutasteride 0.5 mg + Finasteride 1.25 mg (I know some say it's useless to take both but I have a huge stock of finasteride and no side effects at all so why not..)

-Minoxidil 5% liquid 2x a day

-Slight microneedling with 0.5 mm dermaroller every night right before 2nd minoxidil application (like @Somebody but I dont have a 1.5mm yet)

-Vitamins (Cystin, Biotin, B6...)

-Castor oil once a day every night before bed

Moreover I just bought S5 plus cream on the website shop, I will try PRP with 3 sessions starting next thursday and I'm planning to get a hair transplant with Dr Koray Erdogan before next summer if I'm not a full head until then.
