As my Muslim friend says: the age you will have in heaven is 33. Damn, will God allow me to keep my hair transplant at least?!

I reckon we rewind to when we were happiest with our appearance, 33 or 63. Wonder if Jason Statham or Yul Brynner go for hair or bare .

Hair loss in teens..forget about it. **** tier genes.... high probability in passing down pre mature baldness to off spring. Generally those who experience male pattern baldness in their teens tend to have an agressive mob genes in their families

Aging may to varying degrees or factors nullify the initial adverse impact of hair loss. Time has a notorious duality. It will harden our hearts and soften our bodies, but to suggest

we become less concerned by it's ill effects is to claim authority for something we have only learned about but never literally experienced. Aging scientists this very moment are

searching for methods to discover the "fountain of youth". Extending the average life span has been a medical focus venture or priority longer than any of us can remember.

I didn't even know such type of aggressive hair loss existed until I came on this forum. I even asked my gf how the baldness is in her family. I guess I got worried. Luckily there is either no baldness or slow normal type of hair loss like in the 30s. That's okay, especially with treatments we have now, no disaster.

I don't know how I would have felt about having kids if she said every male in her family goes severely bald by their early 20s, they tend to have **** donor too. That would have been a FML moment.

Wolf, I was as clueless about hair loss as you were until I joined this forum and another one. Once I joined the forum, I learned how to be a Norwood spotter and started noticing just how aggressive hair loss can be. I even went back and looked at old photos and I realized I was receding in my mid twenties but I had no clue at the time about anything to do with hair loss. If I had, I would have been in worse shape and maybe never was able to finish college. I was too obsessed with my skin and fighting acne that hair was the last thing on my mind.

And seeing cases on here about losing hair, I was introduced to a whole new thing to become obsessed about. In the early days, with my new obsession I went thru all the same "stages" I see on here every day. First, you acknowledge you are losing hair. Second you seek what treatments to use. Third you start the treatments and when you get your first shed, you acknowledge your treatments are not working and they actually made things worse. You next question, should you quit or should you continue. Then you spend hours on forum and obsess and asks the same questions over and over again. Then you have this battle with yourself on should i quit or should I go on. And then you decide to go on because of some success stories you see and some of your fellow hair loss members are telling you to "ride it out". And you do it and the obsession continues and it never stops. Then you apply all your new knowledge and start giving advice to newbies like you have become a hair loss expert now and the cycle continues.

Lol I think I would be repping all your posts if I could doctorhouse. You've pretty much summarised the experiences and stages of a seasoned hair loss sufferer! I think I will be going through all of that. It's interesting you mention missing the early signs of hair loss. I also had a receding hairline since my mid 20s but for some reason it didn't register in my mind at all. In hindsight, this was probably a good thing except for the lost time for treatment. I wasn't "ready" then to take this on mentally. The obsession bit is worrying but a reality.

You don't get acne any more right? Or at least most don't once past a certain age. I've always wondered how your hairline is. Are you still a Norwood 2 with thinning or is better/worse?

Yes, unfortunately, I still get acne but not like when I was a teen or in my twenties. If I eat clean, it helps alot. If I eat salty fatty fried foods, I break out. I have told you before, my hair line is a NW2A but I am diffusing everywhere. I am hoping I can slow things down until better treatment come along. My hair is kind of like Keanu Reeves( not long like his) is now but he did not go grey yet.

This x1000. Exactly what I'm going through now. It's depressing.

At least the acne is under your control in a sense, some good topical creams are available for minor acne. I'm sorry, yeah I have asked you before about your hairline. I guess unless you see a picture sometimes it can be hard to gauge exactly how it is, especially in relation to the forehead and extent of diffuse thinning, hair characteristics, head shape e.t.c. Even 2A looks very different on people. If it's like Keanu Reeves in terms of hairline, that's good. I just meant I wonder how it looks for real but that gives me an idea.

Will you always dye your hair after a certain age? I think pre middle age, yes. But above that I think the salt and pepper look or letting it grey looks better. Just my feeling. Do you dye your stubble/beard if you ever grow it? I presume that will have greyed to an extent as well.

I was like that also DoctorHouse.

I really wasn't too aware that such aggressive hair loss existed until I joined this place. Yes, I also learned how to be a 'Norwood Spotter' since it seems like that's what one can be called if they have a keen eye for detecting genetic hair loss. The "stages" of the hair loss is completely real, it looks like it's really a never ending cycle.

I will dye my hair all my life. When people comment how come I have no gray, I tell them the truth and tell them its chemically altered. They laugh and say it looks natural. And the main reason is because it makes my hair looks so much thicker. It looks really natural because I get it professionally done. I don't dye my beard or stubble as I shave everyday. Most people think I am about 10 years younger than I am. I have had a few think I was even younger. The fact that I have as much hair as I do helps me look younger too and I wear my hair with a kind of youthful style.
