I started balding at 18 tops (I think it really started at 15-16).
This is why I have never been able to enjoy good hair as an adult.

People who don't lose it give for granted everything related to hair: styling it with product, choosing different styles for good occasions, playing with it.

I have always felt at a loss with my self image, but the thing I have always envied full heads is not good looks: it is rather the spontaneity and palatable naiveness with which they treated the keratin product of their own scalp...

Buck do you post on Bald Truth Talk? you mentioned that this place tends to make you feel worse. no surprise since the majority of topics consist of hate speech from the conservative / "red pilled" crowd. a lot of users here seem to have lost sight of the "support" in "hair loss talk support forum". we don't need a toxic crowd like this.

i'm always happy to see you post

This is a good description. They are mostly right-wingers, these ultra conservative red-pilled members.

They're always banging on about "feminazi's" and the like.

Or ultra nerds, those guys? Just another term? Are you talking about these same dorks snarking around at their jobs; you know the ones, the ones that always have something snarky n nerdy to say about anything, always looking to be the smartest guy in the room, although always lacking n unaware of it. Also the guys who never get any of the girls, except maybe to laugh at them. You can spot them a mile away? Are you speaking of these types of guys?

I took a lengthy political test lately and it turns out I'm dead at the center, but these days, anyone right of Bernie Sanders is a nazi.

You're against uncontrolled immigration importing third-world savages into the West? Well it's because you're racist and a nazi obviously!

Trying to be realistic and to tell the truth like most of us on this forum makes you a right-winger extremist nut.
The fact that you used the words "third world savages" tells me enough.

I like to think of a good post like a good pizza. You need great dough, that's the base of the pizza. The dough is the vocabulary, language, so that the reader understands what you are trying to convey. The tomatosauce, meat and cheese is the "meat" of your post. What the post is about. And finally the spices, fruits etc. is the jokes, wordplay etc. The writing style of the poster.

Very good point. It's called a "support" forum but certain people here are anything but supportive or empathetic to others situations or opinions. They'll justify this nastiness by saying that they're only telling the truth but if you insist on shooting the arrow of truth all the time you should learn to dip it in honey first.

I've always believe people in the general population do understand the horrors of hair loss but refuse to acknowledge it publicly. It's a messy and sensitive topic to get into. The balding/bald guy might be offended with pity or advice. It's far easier to avoid the issue. For a lot of guys and girls with full heads, one of the first look enhancers is getting a new hairstyle. They are aware of it and are told to get a better haircut by their friends.
I've also directly had quite a few positive comments about my hair so people clearly do look. I don't include family and close friends because they'll most likely be biased since they like you and know about your hair history. A full head guy really into his hair and around my age spontaneously said he wishes he had my hair due to it being thick and "having mass." Really meant a lot since he has not lost anything and has medium calibre hair. If only he knew about my earlier hair loss issues.

The guys who don't really understand the negative impact of baldness are the jd uk type of ones who are frustrating. Ones who are a sub version of themselves but don't realise it. Or maybe they were not really attractive before so didn't lose anything after. Lack of an open mind is strange. Credit to some black guys I know who pull off baldness really well but acknowledge hair loss truly sucks for others. They may suffer from insecurity and sadness about not styling it but they don't lose their looks (very minor) and escape negativity in general from others.

The most obvious way I saw this with myself and other balding friends was that when it was an incredibly minor issue of mild crown thinning in harsh light and a norwood 1.5 our other friends constantly made jokes about it, but the minute it hit norwood 2.5-3 with diffusing and obvious crown loss they completely stopped talking about it. I had one friend make balding jokes to me a number of years ago when it was barely noticeable, and earlier this year pre-hair transplant as a norwood 3 he said he didn't notice anything when I outright asked him how it looked. It became too horrible to openly admit.

They know perfectly well what an issue it is even if they are not fully conscious of it, and in most cases I think they are.
