I disagree...on the need for an anti-androgen. Especially internally. But maybe Smity could update you on some experimental treatments being discussed elsewhere..if you're into experimenting with making your own and have some $ to spend.

Not cheap

On the above:

Our Anti-Alopeciaging Serum is a concentrate of powerful plant active ingredients that serve the purpose of purifying the scalp of all the accumulated toxins by penetrating the follicle only with natural and organic ingredients, stimulating the vascular system (thanks to Coffee, Mate, Black Pepper and Centella extracts), protecting your scalp from free-radicals (Astaxanthin, Grape, Tomato, Ginseng, Elderberry extracts ...) and providing it with nutrition (Blue-Green Algae, Seabuckthorn extracts, Magnesium, Tocopherol...). Moreover, the Serum is formulated with three extracts of Plant Stem Cell which contain the highest concentration of active principles : Grape Stem Cell, Lilac Stem Cell and Burgundy Lace Stem Cell, the last two targeting 5?-reductase.

There's also the apple stem cell..at least it's in the ingreds list. Quite a list btw

Depends on the type of hair loss you have. I need it because I have severe hair loss. I believe I have slowed it down now to medium hair loss and hoping in the next 3 months it will now be where you're probably at now. Once you slow down and remove DHT, you can probably cut your anti androgen usage down a bit which is why I only use RU now once every other day.

The top anti androgens are

1). CB0301
2). Duta
3). finasteride
4). RU58841
5). ASC-J9

The toughest to find are #1 and #5. If you don't like using dutasteride, you should start off with RU. Check the RU58841 for more information.

The Andalou shampoo is actually good stuff. The spray...not too bad either. Still like the Lamas gel/styling product better though.

Anyone else try the shampoo? Do I dare say I'd actually recommend it..since it's quite cheap?

I may try the gel next. It at least has the plant stem cell ingreds.

i got into a conversation with another bald guy who tried apple stem cell based products, he said he regrew almost all of his hair with it last year.

sadly the new hair for him was super sensitive to DHT and fell out as quickly as it came in.

any of you guys experienced that?

I suppose anything is possible...but no, haven't experienced that. Maybe he was taking finasteride and dropped it.

One of each :woot:

I just got a newsletter/email from Andalou Naturals. 25% off all Manuka Honey containing products. Didn't realize..or don't remember..that they used that...including in a shampoo and conditioner: http://andalou.com/index.php/haircare/moisture-rich/moisture-rich-sweet-orange-argan-shampoo.html

I think I'll switch to that one for the winter.

Actually I think it may be new. I don't recall that one..with Argan oil. I don't see anywhere it saying it's new though :dunno:

That's what many of us have used either via Lamas or Elsom or from that place. Good to get if you're interested in making your own topical and/or adding it to a shampoo/conditioner. I think they also carry that Cococin which I wish someone would base a shampoo on.

I'm told that line has always been there..guess I passed on it due to the "moisture"..in the summer.

arent regular topicals you leave in always going to be more effective than a shampoo, regardless of the ingredients?

Most likely. But as long as I'm shampoo'n...I want ingreds that may help. Doesn't pay to do so imo unless you leave it on for a good 5+ mins though. Well maybe less would be ok. You are hydrating your scalp, which allows for better absorption. Then letting things sit awhile.....
