as a short skinny 21 year old bald man hats are one of my main go-to things that makes me feel better

in less than a few seconds i can be "man with hair" to society, since most people assume you have hair underneath (of course since most people arent bald)

i doubt i will ever stop wearing hats. my dad is 60 and still wears hats. he denies that its because he is bald but id say its pretty obvious thats the reason.

i just dont want the worst fear of every bald man . . . . a girl sizing me up in public and thinking "if only he had hair he would be cute"

and ofc the soul-sucking thoughts that Fred mentioned, i.e. "does this person think less of me for being bald?"

and logicaly when i'm with a college-age crowd i'll wear a hat, so i dont look 10 years older than everyone there (and garner loads of "attention")

Not sure how you guys wear hats over there. Hardly any hats I see on men in the UK. I suppose it's good but I couldn't wear one. It's a massive shock taking it off, shows big insecurity when all is revealed. Again I know I can't identify but I know I wouldn't do that. Dodgy combover or shave off is more me.

it's different when you are really bald though. i remember when i had hair i said all the same things, i would "shave, get buff and be CONFIDENT". it is hard to admit weakness and my words were empty

i think a lot of norwood 1 people respond with the same empty words when asked what they would do if they went bald

if you really have the conviction to keep carrying it even while bald more power to ya

+1.
Perfectly right, so there are men, who don't give a fvck because they are bald, and go on with their life like nothing happened.
I like to see more reasonable people, who can admit that something may exist.
Not like that other poster, i don't name him now, who does horrible wrong generalisations, and puts all the people in the world "in the same pot" with him. So, if he can't or feels that he couldn't acept baldness even at 80, he concludes that no man can do it.

I hear you. I didn't say anything about being confident, buff or flaunting my shiny head with pride though. I just meant I would shave it and walk around, that's it. Probably feel like crap but plod along in life, like with all other bs that hits you. No hats, wigs or anything for me.

The other day at a function I saw some clean shaved baldies and some with a slightly grown out horseshoe. I know it sounds weird but I am beginning to think the horseshoe itself looks slightly better. Something about zero hair on head makes most people look not too great.

Maybe, there are opinions and opinions.
Zero hair on head can look "cleaner".
Horseshoe my not look to bad buzzed(not shaved), but grown more than 5mm-1 cm, i think it looks hideous on most people. Just my personal opinion.

That's what I mean, just slightly grown. Makes the person look more individual like when he had full hair as opposed to looking like a lifeless corpse. As you say, it's all up to each person.

I agree with this. I'll be happy if I can maintain my very weak hairline and keep shaving it down to a zero guard. You can still see theres at least some hair.I've tried slick bald a few times and imo I think I look unhealthy.

ah fellow early norwood

i see you have realized the truth that slick bald usually looks like ****. slightly grown out is almost always better

actually id go so far as say completely grown out is better than slick bald if you are skinny like me

better to be a middle aged guy than a cancer-afflicted guy

and idk about the hat thing. its insanely tempting because hats are an instant way to have hair again in a sense

once you really go bald the temptation will be a lot harder to resist

at the very least you will wear a hat sometimes

Sly can only really work on a white bald if they have a thick neck, thus the head appears bigger and the organs don't become so prominent.

I'd say every bald guy would prefer of course not to be bald and I think a good majority of baldies are extremely insecure about their many norwoods and would probably curl into a ball if someone were to mention it, could you imagine if someone mentioned it to Chad Smith lol. I think it's fair to say 99.9% of men who are bald would if given the opportunity have their juvenile hair back granted by some magical genie, I think the ones who wouldn't; would be too prideful and it see as them being weak.
Just imagine right now if that happened to every baldy out there, I think we'd see a HELL of a lot less egg heads in the morning and perhaps a shortage of hair gell lol.
