Well sir, I’m my experience I was super fit and high sex drive and bla bla you’ve heard it before. I have also taken anti epileptics(it’s not bad but still need to take three of the fuckers) all three include sexual dysfunction as side affects. I took many of these drugs for 21 years before trying finasteride and my dick was a rock. I was also put on an SSRI at one point to make sure the my other meds didn’t f*** with my mood too much. Dick was a rock for the year I took them. Enter finasteride, the dick slayer.

If you get zero sides. You are lucky.

Wouldn't say I am lucky at all, it's the norm to not get sides on finasteride. I've had this debate before with others and won't start one again but I do have an academic background in this and I believe the studies that sides are in 2-4%. Personally I know a few people on it too and none have sexual dysfunction or any side. But how many of them have depression and needed SSRIs too? Zero. The mind is a powerful too, not saying every one who gets sides on finasteride is placebo but people who are naturally scared of the drug 100% will get sides due to this reason.

I'm glad you recovered mate. Did you do any tests while you were on finasteride? I did some blood work last year, actually full blood work mostly unrelated to finasteride because I can, everything was normal.

My therapist also said it sounds too extreme to be Lexapro or mood related

In your case finasteride is likely as the other sides you had too confirm something physiological happening. Plus you were not afraid of the drug and desperately wanted to stay on it.

Yep. Do you think I should see an endocrinologist? I did a blood test/hormonal panel and it came back fine but maybe there are some important parameters I didn't check and something is still not the same.

Watching lots of p**rn won't help your sex drive either. So cut back on that.
I creates a false sex drive. So when or if you hook up with a woman, your drive will be totally different, in a bad way, than when you were getting off on p**rn. p**rn creates unrealistic expectations.

Fair dos. I know this goes back and forth on here.

Cheers. I didn’t have any blood tests while on finasteride unfortunately but everything was in range 5 months after I quit, except my testosterone level which was high - 10.61 ng/ml. Can’t compare that to before finasteride though.

I would. There are some other hormonal tests that they can do which are specialised but good to get done. Low libido/ED should never be taken lightly. Problem is there are many causes, keep an eye on your lipid levels, blood pressure, glucose too.

That's perfect.

Agree with @Hanginon hair about p**rn. It's okay if you're f*****g girls or a girl regularly and watching p**rn, otherwise p**rn itself can shift the brain and effect true sex drive, in some people. Because the dopamine rush can no longer come from real intimacy or real moments which are no longer recognised as pleasure. I disagree with nofap, if anything I think it would decrease sex drive in the long run and make someone more cuck like. My approach in such a situation would be to get all my blood tests normal, eat healthy with a varied natural diet, get fit (no belly) with good cardio endurance, surround yourself with girls and the only p**rn should be pictures/imagination or really amateur type p**rn without bs stories/unrealistic/ultra HD crap. I mean that's actually what I prefer anyway but for people who go too deeply into the world of p**rn with other health/lifestyle problems, they really need to take a step back.

I know people say its a distraction and low sex drive is just a small price to pay for hair. I agree. But sex drive is important. But sexual transmutation is a real thing (imo).

Scientific research has disclosed these significant facts:

1.The men of greatest achievement are men with highly developed sex natures; men who have learned the art of sex transmutation.

2.The men who have accumulated great fortunes and achieved outstanding recognition in literature, art, industry, architecture, and the professions, were motivated by the influence of a woman.

There's an entire chapter about this in the popular book "think and grow rich". This is why i think having a low sex drive is a bad thing. Anyway, I miss having a high sex drive sometimes

Back in the day i'd get rock hard just TALKING to a girl. No kidding. I'd get spontaneous erections well. I can't remember the last time i had a spontaneous erection.

i miss it tbh anyone else?
Yup I agree. Finasteride is a killer of sex drive.

A good sex drive also affects other important drives in life, so the ripple effects of losing your sex drive is really a big loss.

Its better to have gone without Finasteride, especially when you realize Finasteride didn't even help my hair but made it much worse when I was on it.

Fortunately when I stopped my hair started to slowly get better after about 9 months.

Unfortunately, my sex drive hasn't returned since.

Hopefully in the near future with all the new technologies like Gene Editing Therapy and MRNA they find a way to reverse this.

I think male pattern baldness is a by product of higher testosterone and sex drive. A lot of me with balding get buff grabbing a weight in contrast to normies.

No, male pattern baldness is a by-product of hair Follicles sensitivity* to DHT.

It has nothing to do with Testosterone. There's actually more buff guys in the gym with hair than without.

Tell that to Ronnie Coleman and friends. Maybe it's anecdotal but lots of baldness men seem to get jacked.

probably because roids make their DHT levels super high

everyone goes bald at different rates so maybe they have the gene and roids send them over the edge.
if they nevver did roids theyd go bald but super slow

Who ever thought nuking the most important androgenic hormone that literally makes us men would cause low libido, ED and a bunch of other health problems huh?

And yes most if not everyone who takes finasteride will deal with side effects, it's only a matter of time. Also FDA admitted they didn't know what the long term effects of finasteride are, the myth that only "2-4%" will experience sides is a big lie.
a bit of a loss of libido is a small price to pay for hair imo

It starts with only a "bit of libido loss" but gets worse and worse with time untill you have zero sex drive. DHT is a very important hormone, testosterone won't compensate for all the functions that DHT supports. (another myth balding fina copers want to believe)
Mine is getting worse thus far
Any studies showing that libido gets worse than zero?

Absolutely. 2-4 percent getting sides is a blatant lie. Even if the sides are mild(minor ED) which I believe the majority of users will experience, it’s still a side effect.

What do you think about the guy on YouTube who calls DHT a "trash hormone"?

You mean our friend Kevin? Lol I had a discussion with him on here too. I said to him to say that to any endocrinologist, he never answered.

I'm sure he knows it's pure bullsh*t but that's how youtube works, provocation to get more views. Sadly a lot of young, ignorant and desperate balding guys believe everything he says, I understand though... they put all their hope in finasteride and look for copes.
but there is no alternative?
