Hey Guys,
A little about myself. Diffuse thinner since I was 16years old.
Current Regimen (Daily):
0.5mg Dutasteride
1mg Finasteride
50mg Bicalutamide
1500mg Metformin
Raloxifene 80mg
2ml Liquid minoxidil daily

I read a recent study which talks about the possibility of developing diabetes whilst on Bicalutamide from the FDA's access data report where :

'Bicalutamide Tablets work. Reduction in glucose tolerance, manifesting as diabetes or a loss of glycaemic control in those with pre- In patients with advanced prostate cancer treated with Bicalutamide T Tablets in combination with an LHRH existing diabetes, has been reported during treatment with LHRH agonist'

Bicalutamide is notorious to cause diabetes. Does anyone know what is the best way to utilise Bicalutamide while avoiding an increase in blood sugar levels? Any help would be great. I dont want to continue using a medication which can cause diabetes, but if there is a way to control it, id appreciate it heaps, so that I can continue to utilise such a strong anti- androgen. BTW I am not a diabetic nor do I have an intention to become one.

By the way, Bicalutamide does not cause feminization at 50mg daily and I do not have any other side effects not even Gyno. My only concern is this as a possibility. DHTCEL do you have any advice?
Thanks

@Almas

How's your hair doing? Some pics? What was it before? And why Minoxidil?

I only take 50mg Bica + 1mg finasteride. Raloxifene is not available in my country and it raises the cost of treatment and increases T. How has your regimen affected your hair? What result?

The study you are referring to is about bicalutamide therapy together with castration. If you are not castrated, you do not need to worry about diabetes or heart problems.

Youll get Gyno really really quickly. Youll need raloxifine despite increasing T levels, if you take dutasteride or Finasteride, youll be able to sustain on 50mg of Bica.

Yes but Bicalutimide alone does cause diabetes with or without castration. A side effect of Cassodex is an increase in the IGF-1 Factor which causes a rise in blood sugar levels.

My Protocol is pretty Nuclear. But to make things extremely clear, I am not a M to F. I was born a male and aim to stay as a male. Im only using bicalutimide to keep my hair. I do not want any feminization at all. Without Raloxifene there is no way on earth you can avoid avoid gyno.

How has your hair journey been so far?

Would love to hear your story and at what state you are now.

Well theres no further shed.

Well I am a diffuse thinner. Began balding at the age of 14. Decided to on this nuclear protocol late last year. No further shed, I have had a dramatic increase in hair density. If I do decide to opt for SMP with my current hair state, Id be back to a 12 year olds hair density. I dont have a receding hairline. My hair has gotten at least 5x times thicker. Its true that Estrogen could help extra, but im not considering any form of feminization and Bica is and will be my last resort in fighting hairloss, further then that unless you want to be a M to F is insane. Bicalutimide is only as far as any reasonable person should go, beyond that is madness if itll increase osteoporosis, feminization and a loss of manhood. However Bicalutimide does cause diabetes.

I agree with you. However the studies do state that a side effect of Bica is water retention ajd diabetes. I, at times take a duretic to rid any water retention and also any water rention from minoxidil

I just read a study that IGF-1 increases AR sensitivity.

Yes, but if we are going to push the boundries, it will become a point of diminishing returns. No point being a diabetic with hair. Diabetes is 1000x more dangerous then hairloss. Thats my personal opinion.
