Okay almost 4 months of RU. My hairline has definitely gotten much worse. Very upsetting. RU has a better reputation but no one in this thread has come back to report positive results.

Maybe its like finasteride, where many people have a terrible shed for up to a year before the hair ''magically" comes back strong. If you're out there with similar experiences please share. Losing my mind here

yeah dude, didn't notice anything positive on it.

Same. :(

I used it OCT to JAN on hairline only.

Got much worse, and continues to get worse....

Do you think it's worth it to try H&W topical liposomal finasteride at 0.3% per 1ml dosage if I had bad results on RU?

who knows man, maybe? I have given up on everything. I am a bad person to ask.

Is there a GB for RU? Ive been buying and plan on buying RU for many months and it could come out quite costly. Im using 5g every 6 weeks or so.

What's the evidence for ~120 grams a day? The standard dose seems to be 50.

Frankly I don't think there is much evidence at all on RU, just anecdotally. However my rationale is that I have around 10 times the androgens a average person dose, so its more preemptive more then anything else. Once my androgen levels go down, I will probably use 30-50 mgs a day. I did start at 30mgs but I only saw the shedding subside once at 100mgs this may be due to a)time or b) the higher dose. Again Im willing to lose a few dollars rather then my hair. Some here used 200mgs but they didn't have the level of hormones I do. I wish there was more evidence in human studies.

RU doesn't effect androgen levels, it effects androgen receptors. Have you actually taken a blood test of your testosterone and DHT levels?

lol, I thought you would read between the lines by what I meant when I said 10X. No normal person would have 10X the amount unless they are using an exogenous source of hormones/testoterone. Many athletes use them. Hence as you said I want to have RU block those receptors. Im the one prescribing the hormones, so I know exactly how much testoerone and other androgenic hormones are in me. :)

Not much great evidence of success anecdotally in this thread. I'm committed for the 12 months. 4 so far. I hear that higher dose is significantly better but if I go up to 100mg it seems to give sides.

I am going to attempt it again. I don't know what the hell happened, but as soon as I dropped it, frontal area went completely to diffused sh*t. Perhaps it was doing something.

I don't know if it was the RU though, or just a coincidence. I dropped it only like a month ago, and don't know how the hair could cycle THAT quick. any thoughts? Like night and day though. My frontal area was ok, dropped RU and started losing it like crazy. ???

Using ru on frontal areas tho i had not much loss, but Ru is something sick it gave me much more hair than i ever had :) im happy with ru, applying very few only at nights everyday. its around 15mg daily. Keep it moisturized with an additional product (cream or serum) after half an hour tho to increase effectiveness.

Also guys try keeping your scalp blood pressure high. MY hairs got much better after starting sports and at least 10 minutes doing exercises upside down V position that your scalp is getting blood pressure. It can be helpful lots hopefully. Uploaded what im doing 10 minutes everyday, v position push ups, leg ins and outs. Also uploaded what my hair looks like right now. Sometimes i get shedding but i think its seasonal or age based im 31 right now :p

There is a sports program called insanity, you can find it on the net, im doing it tho.

That is fast to lose it. But theoretically, if its an AA just like finasteride, I wouldn't expect it to work any differently. finasteride often sheds your hair for several months. People report it and want to stop and then around 9-12 months they come back with lots of new density. At least, this is what I tell myself when I see continuing thinning and recession. I get that RU is a receptor blocker vs systemic reduction of DHT, but at the end of the day, I'd imagine AAs to work similarly on the hair cycle. Of course, this is all assuming we have good RU that hasn't degraded and applying it correctly to reach the receptors everyday.

I agree you should stick it out. BUT, the entire time I was on it, I had burning, itching and crawling. That is why I dropped it and will never go back. These are all simply signs of inflammation. Despite what mechanisms are causing it, it's NOT good for your follicles and means, straight up, that the medication is not only NOT working, but causing more damage.

Any chance you're just straight up allergic to it buckthorn?

could be possible, but 1) i have never heard of allergies to finasteride and 2) I would have gotten other symptoms besides those specifically in the scalp tissue. So, I don't think so.

The drastic hair loss and inflammation was accompanied by the usual factors you see in non responders - increased libido, oily scalp, increased night time erections, etc... My body simply countered the drop in 5-AR and DHT by producing a much higher amount of T, or by increasing androgen receptors in scalp tissue, or by inducing Telogen Effluvium due to the hormone change, or, probably all of these at the same time!!

I got my blood work back and it showed a drastic decrease in DHT, while an increase in testosterone. that was one month after starting finasteride, and two months before sh*t really hit the fan.

Having read all your valuable contributions on this thread, I am now feeling reluctant to add RU to my regime..
I have been on minoxidil and Finasteride since start of year with some limited success. A few months into the treatment, the vellus hair on the temple became more visible but now completely stagnant at current length. I feel that I have now seen the best of what Finasteride can do for me.
Any opinions? I was thinking of 5%-8% solution once a day on the temple only.
