Plus lots of greying hair. And acne scars. I'm 27 years old.
I am on finasteride and minoxidil and a cocktail of vitamin supplements for the past month. My doctor doesn't seem to know about my type of hairloss. I had taken a thyroid test years ago and it came back normal even though my hair was thinning back then. Could it be an iron deficiency? Or a thyroid disorder which didn't show up previously even though my hair was thinning and greying back then as well.

A lot of luck. but you need a blood work and a new doctor
Will be seeing one. Do you know of any good hairstyles for this kinda loss? Or is a full head buzz the only option?
Will finasteride and min help me? I am hoping my next derm will find something in the tests deficient which could reverse my condition.

smp is not for life, and you need have scalp shaved, imo is a closed road without return,
if you have a good head shape, shaved scalp is an option if you don't give much importance to the hair

Smp can be done for density improvements without shaving hair. Women get it done a lot. I dont mind doing topups every 3 years. The results online are pretty convincing. Let's see tomorrow when I have the appointment.

Would find another doctor and do blood tests. Rule out any thyroid issues, nutritional deficiencies, auto immune problems. If it all comes back clear, hopefully the finasteride and minoxidil help over time.

I hope so too. At this moment, I would even accept 'normal' balding of my scalp over the side swathes of hair loss I am experiencing. I only found out about this recently as I decided to video shoot the back of my head after a buzz cut. Kept my hair longish and unruly until now.

Ps-Do you think an smp along with my existing hair could work out? I wont getting a topup every few years.

If your bloodtest is ok, try finasterid oral, Microneedling once per week 1,5mm, Minoxidil topic and Minoxidil oral 5 mg per day

In the case that this is androgenic alopecia:

if finasteride doesn’t maintain your hair, I wouldn’t do SMP. If it does and you’ve maxed out any hair gains, I’d go for it just to give the illusion of thicker hair. It would be pretty helpful in your situation. But I’m optimistic that a good regimen of finasteride and min will give you good results.

He means flashlight.
Both are right in worldwide English but Americans struggle to remember torch as anything except what you use in horror movies. Horror movie torches stay lit for hours. Although "flash" lights have the ability to flash, that is rarely used as a feature and more so from nautical usage I believe.

Wow. Thanks for the advice and the optimism. You're giving me hope!! Haha
On second thoughts, what if my condition turns out to be diffuse unpatterned alopecia? Or chronic telogen effluvium? These conditions are androgenic too right? Would finasteride plus smp be advisable then?
