At first, I was thinking, wow, heat and light treatment, how advanced, lol. I agree with Selb. Your type of hair loss often thickens right up with the standard male treatments. Keto and blue/green Tegrin might do it as they reduce inflammation.
I'm from India. I wouldn't be surprised if some weird herbal folk here practice something close to what you described regarding the heated torches.

Isn't this condition self resolving? Also I don't have smooth bald patches.
There’s a form of alopecia areata which is diffuse. Look it up. And it doesn’t 100% go away by itself. There might be a trigger you don’t know about or you need strong medication to fix it

alopecia areata incognito
Whoa!! You could be right. I've been to 2 derms neither of whom have any scalp biopsy or trichoscope facilities. They couldn't diagnose my exact condition either. The next derm I'm going to will be a bit far from my residence but he does have these tools. I'll even mention AAI.
Thank you Jan!!

Absolutely. Steroids are useful it seems. I'll be visiting a third derm soon. With all the fancy tools and diagnostic facilities. His clinic isn't close and he charges a lot, but a correct diagnosis would be wonderful in solving my issues.
Thank you for your response. Everyone here has been really helpful.

Write: "Dupa hair loss" on google and look at the pictures it's always the same thing. The sides and the back of the head are always evenly sparse with lots of holes. But it's not your case because it's not homogeneous.
Some of the pictures look similar to my hair idk. Diagnosing dupa seems to be hit and miss though.

Would find another doctor and do blood tests. Rule out any thyroid issues, nutritional deficiencies, auto immune problems. If it all comes back clear, hopefully the finasteride and minoxidil help over time.
So if one has autoimmune problem like IBS or seborrheic dermatitis, they can't take finasteride?

I meant auto immune hair problems. Like alopecia areata. Though in my research there is some correlation between existing auto immune issues like IBS and immune disorders in hair

If my doctor said I'm thinning but when my hair is curly and dry natural, I can't see any scalp only when parted, does it mean I'm in early stages? I don't lose any hair in shower apart from 3 or 5 ish. And that's if I pull it hard. My crown isn't thinning yet. And if I have IBS does it mean finasteride won't work

finasteride will work on hair loss if it's androgenic. If your hair loss is autoimmune then finasteride won't help. Having IBS does not mean that your hair loss is autoimmune though.

If it is autoimmune then natural methods can solve it right. If it isn't due to the genetic and sh*t.

If it's linked to autoimmune or digestive issues then it's better than genetic?

I mean autoimmune hair loss is its own mystery, and treatments also lacking because it's quite difficult to inhibit immune responses locally. But steroids etc can help.

My third derm also suggested I have male pattern baldness.....without using any diagnostic tools. I insist she use a trichoscope to study my hair but with a waltz around me she concluded I have male pattern baldness and refused any further diagnoses. She charged me a fortune at that. She prescribed some of her own expensive crap multivitamins along with minoxidil.
How does one detect alopecia areata incognita if that is indeed what I have? Or are 3 derms right?
