Did anybody try Laser device with any sort of success?

Placeeeeeboooooo!

You are probably right. I have no problem admitting that. That's is why I have said on multiple occasions if I claim to have improvement, then I will provide pics.

I don't wish this thread to be dead, I just wish there was less bullsh1t statements from your side and more actual facts. You just make claims without any backing in science or research.

  • You have been asked to provide source proving that there is any indication that LLLT is beneficial for treatment of hairloss. Out of the 4 sources you provided, 3 clearly state that there is no substantial indication of positive effects of LLLT and that previous studies were found to be inherently flawed in methodology.
  • The only device which has any backing in research, as mentioned by Vlatch, is a laser comb - which you condemn. So the only device with any scientifically reported efficacy and FDA approval is, according to you, a "con". People should, in your opinion, buy instead products only at a very specific wavelength even though you can't explain why that wavelength is in any way better than others. Quite convincing! Do you really think anybody is that stupid?
Too many people in this World are stupid - sad fact of life.....and you can't change it....only those who are not - realise this sad fact....
You just supported my argument - your FDA approved laser comb sold on this website for $500 is identical to some sold in China - and guess what?? - thay all use the same 650nm.. haha - now who is stupid? all raymax. buidmax maxbuidl gainlaser revera limo or whatnot they are all called -fishblow oases capiluls - they all proudly state 650nm and 5mW..what a coincidence that FDA gave clearance to 650nm and 5mW laser diodes used for LLLT hair loss devices.. Do you want me to spend $500 and buy this laser comb form this website just to scan its User's guide with 650nm init? I have better use for my money - e.g. flight to Barbados....
Btw, physics and Maths is unforgiving - coverage provided by laser combs can be by my estimate 6x1=4cm2 - if is to be provide adequate energy exposure to hair folickles - you would have to irradiate every affected/bald area for 10 minutes - if you are NW7 that equates to 250/6*10=some 400 minutes - that is over 6 hours - get life - here you have your "FDA approved" label you so like so much.... now who is stupid..?

Wow, I guess I still wont be getting any sources which confirm that 650nm is indeed superior over others?

Teehee, I somehow have the feeling that you include yourself in the smart people and anybody on here not agreeing with you in the dumb ones.

Dear ladies and gentlemen,
Buy the all-new Sh1t Streamer! Due to its superior FFD (Fecal Flux Density), you can spray your scalp with sh1t in just 40 minutes, whereas others such as the FDA-approved sh1t comb need 400 minutes for covering your whole scalp in dung!

Our device has been found not to have any positive effect on hair growth in 3 out of 4 studies - but hell, physics and maths don't lie! Our device is almost 10 times quicker in achieving nothing than other devices! Get a life, you don't have time for 6 hours of covering your scalp in feces if you could instead achieve the same in just under 40 minutes and take a flight to Barbados!

Hey Benjt, I've copied for you in case you overlooked it - some of the text from this website sell page and below is exactly what it says.

..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
[h=3]LaserComb Pro 12[/h] $ 545.00

The makers of the Lasercomb have spent years proving the legitimacy of low level laser therapy in the treatment of hair loss. Now they have been granted FDA approval to make claims of hair growth, which is a claim that only two other products in the world can make (Propecia and Rogaine).

...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

It says right there - that LLLT is proven - just like Propecia and Rogaine. So why do you dismiss it so quickly?... and why does no other member come forward with their damning experiences? Also am I to understand that no other minoxidil brand works, only rogaine? Minoxidil is just a substance, so ANY brand should do the job, right? Is it not for this reason this very website sells rogain? so there is no interest to promote anything else what is not sold on this website,,, I call this a conflict of interest,,, but LLLT is sold on this website.. what do you say to that? Mr, Gurdian of this forum..

I think this is my 6th week on laser, nothing else. I am about a Norwood 3. Bald areas at front with a V. Crown thinning.

My hair has definitely grown really quick and appears thicker when styling it. More "life like." This is all bs to me, unless it fills my crown I will sell it. Bought it second hand. I never have had a shed but having one on this, it's not to big but noticeable. Especially last week. Little bit less now.

On some hair transplant surgeon site I read it's as effective as finasteride and minoxidil in the SHORT term.

I agree. Unless using laser results in an aesthetic difference, it really isn't worth it.

So true mate. You got a perfect regime anyway. I am feeling a touch anxious using only this. But I prefer to do things one by one so I know what each one is doing. I am at least expecting it to do something to my crown, the thinning has only just started even though you can see a "circle" in that area with a picture, it's not a bald patch yet.

Will use it up to the 16 week mark and then decide what to do. Probably finasteride and just stay on that.

Yeah I will put some pics up next week. You can see what or if LLLT is doing anything for me. Not to kill the suspense, but it doesn't appear to be doing a whole heck of a lot.

That's a shame, considering you have the ideal regime going. I'm contemplating purchasing the same unit as you. For my sitch, thicker more manageable hair would be good enough as I don't expect any significant regrowth from it.

You and I both have been losing hair for a long time. I think with all treatments timing is important. Some of my hair has been gone for 15 years, that hair isn't coming back. With that being said there is plenty of hair that hasn't been gone that long, I was hoping to recover at least that. I haven't taken comparison pics in a while so who knows, I may see some improvement.

Same.
For me it's more my frontal area (receding/thinning) that's effected. I've managed to maintain my mid-crown area thanks to finasteride I assume for the last 10 years. I wish to improve my existing "weaker" hairs and that's where laser comes into it. I did laser over 10 years ago for around a year at a clinic, my hair was in good condition looking back now. It will take time, just like finasteride.

I also recall that the clinic would first apply minoxidil and then lasers for better absorption. Whether this enhances the results, I don't know?

Is the device easy to use? Seems a little bit of an inconvenience the way you need to hold it with no support?

It's a pain. You will just have to find what works for you. I would sit next to my bed and use that to kind of support my arm while I held the unit next to my head. Also keep something reflective near by so you can ensure the laser is close enough to your head. My hand has a tendency to drift so I needed something to make sure I was holding it steady.

just some advice. another rectangular style unit comes attached to a mic stand.

get a boom style mic stand from a pawn shop or something, then attach it to stand somehow. mine has a block of plastic glued to it, with thread in it so u just thread the boom into the unit, but im sure some gaffa tape or duck tape will do, then u can position in any way u want, for eg, hovering above hair.

btw i dont think laser does much of anything. i think its possible it makes a small improvement, since its used in clinics, and there is good scientific studies to prove it. i just think its too small a difference too really change anything. anyway been using for years and will keep using.

its not the idea of LLLT that im opposed to, its salesmen pushing there product onto us in a neverending cycle of spam. that and deceptive photos of shaven hair by certain salesmen, when i know exactly what results ppl can expect. they make it seem like ppl regrow whole heads of hair, by shaving in the before with bright lighting, then regrowing in the after with dark lighting.

A goose neck clamp might also help.

Before I tried laser I also believed they made very little difference. At this point my opinion hasn't changed.

And yeah the deceptive pics are BS.

You can see photoshopping in almost all "before / after" pics - but it is easy to spot.
What kind of LLLT device have you been using for years? I thought any small improvement is good, is it not?
And just in case you missed this point - i am not pushing any product - I just was lookiing for experiences with LLLT - and to date I found NONE....good or bad - and THAT is what I find unnatural... There MUST be heaps of guys using LLLT device everyday - where are they hiding?? and why??

ppl regrow - do you mean propylenglycol?? please educate me... I am new to this one.... as far as I know propylenglycol is not something you really want on your head everyday? there are plenty of other minoxidil brands without it...

For anybody who is interested.

You guys demanded pics so here you go. The first couple of pics are from early July, the last two pics are from today. I tried to duplicate the same lighting, hair length, etc. To be honest I don't see a huge difference if any at all. I won't let my disappointment disrupt the experiment and will continue using every day for at least another 3 months.
