I am the perfect example of the idiot the original post describes. Despite being on this forum since 2013 and hearing repeatedly that I should get on proven treatments, I stuck with the natural herbal bullshit. I knew better and I was like - nah, let me try me some soy and black tea and some cayenne pepper topical - I could have saved more hair if I had started on finasteride 4 years back than starting 1 year back. What a complete tool!
I went on finasteride almost a year back. And minoxidil just recently. I think it is too late for me but I will stay on proven treatments. May be minoxidil will work. But I am saving for a hair transplant this winter if minoxidil does not regrow. Nonetheless, I will be on finasteride and minoxidil all my life or until a 'cure' comes along.
But if someone is listening who is deciding between proven sh*t and natural sh*t - please get on the proven sh*t. I have tried everything - black tea, soy, pumpkin seed oil, curcumin, dermaroller, chemical peel, castor oil, rosemary oil - some of them may benefit to some extent but when you can just have one small pill that you can take in the morning and which is not plagued my bio availability issues (like black tea extract could be) and you can get rogaine foam which is a lot more convenient than castor oil which is really thick, why bother? and btw the proven treatments are proven. you know for sure that your money and time investment is worth it.
In the fight against male pattern baldness, trust me when i say that time is money.
