Embarrassment of re-growth?

I was once told that people actually don't notice when you regrow two norwoods. I couldn't believe it.

Now I'm experiencing it and it's 100% true. It's insane. No wonder we can be in denial for so long when hairloss hits us.

I went from NW3 with diffuse thinning to NW1 using concealers after a two week break when my regrowth kicked in. NO ONE said a thing. I got a couple comments about looking different and less tired or thinner.

I'm ready to pull off the "regenix" excuse if someone actually calls me out".

What did you use to go from NW3 to NW1?

Interesting, is it possible that it's such a taboo subject? For example if you don't really know someone that well you don't mention if they've lost weight.

I've probably gone up half a norwood in a year and anyone I rarely see just stares at my fringe if they missed the transition period. Which is conflicting because it's like, so f*****g rude, yet I suspect they're looking at the regrowth, which is great.

Don't quite know how to respond to that. I did mention previously only 1 rather outspoken friend of mine has actually said something. A bald cousin of mine has looked at my hair a lot and seems somewhat jealous, like I've turned my back on my high norwood brothers. But I just remembered another one, a nearly bald guy who's married to a friend of mine, who I got pissed off with for making fun of my hair on a stag weekend, I saw him for the first time in ages over Christmas and he kept looking, and didn't seem in the best of form about it.

Maybe it's petty that this was so, so satisfying, but if I can't take joy from that then what can I take joy from? That's f*****g perfect.

I agree totally. But I think the women are just as bad as the men.
Both just sit there talking about everybody. And a lot of it is hatred.
Doesn't it turn your stomach?
We have gotten dumber as the years went by.

People are to busy talking about others, and gossiping about each other. Not so much discussing events, and ideas.

Its not normal for people to focus on your hairline and have a conversation with your hair rather then your face. The focal points of communication are our eyes and mouth...

When somebody's eyes are graviting towards your hairline then something I wrong rather it be an imbalance innsymmetry; balding or a mixture of the two. The hairlines serves two purposes - framing, and dividing the face. A bonus would include making you look great.

When your hairline goes to far south it fucks up your facial symmetry

I know what you're saying but cmon hahaha, the last problem any of us have is too low of a hairline.

My hairline hasn't even gone that much lower, just a little bit, there's a freckle at the top of my forehead and from old pictures I can see my hair used to meet it, now it's still below. What has changed noticeably is the gaps to the left and right of my hair line, they're filling in nicely.

Please don't make me self conscious about my biggest pride and joy.

But really, maybe "staring" was an overstatement, one example was a guy I hadn't seen since the start of last year, who looked up at it briefly 3 or 4 times.

So I guess now it'll go from people staring at my freak monkey hairline, to me imagining it or something because that's hardly evidence (even though this has been a consistent theme over the past year, glances of the fringe upon first meeting in a while).

Just be happy for another members regrowth shooks, I'll be happy for you if your next hair transplant finally does the job.

I've gotten zillions of comments from losing weight.

Everybody from my dentist to work colleagues.

They're probably complimenting and encouraging you.

I wouldn't look at their comments negatively if I was you.

I made an appointment with Dr. Wesley (Pilofocus) today. He's pretty booked so I can't talk to him until May. From what I gathered when talking to his staff today he's still refining the instruments/process. She wouldn't give me a release date but I got the impression that it's going to be longer. I'm still hoping it will be ready late this year or early next year. In May I'll let you all know where things stand with this hopeful treatment.

Just the best satire right here, because nameless actually looks like the 2nd guy (except maybe a bit fatter, more bloated and redder) and thinks hair would make him look like 20 year old Duncan James again (who he never even looked like anyway).

#rekt

Just to let you know, when I said I thought I looked like Duncan James it was because of one pic of him I saw. But in other pics I've seen of him he doesn't look nearly as much like me. In all of the other pics I saw of him, when we both have hair, he looks rougher than I look. Here is the one (and only) pic of him where I think he looks like me:

duncan_james_2004_05_25.jpg

Typically, I wear my hair quite a bit lot longer than he does and like I said this is the only pic of him I've seen that looks similar to me.

Obviously, I know what I look like with either long and short hair. I think I have a similar look to this pic of Duncan James. One difference is that his eyes aren't as big as mine. And it looks like he's focusing on something - squinting. I see other difference as well but I also seem some similarities.

1. His hair is streaky but it's mostly brown so when I look at this pic of him I see his hair as brown. When I had my hair mine had a little more puff to it than his does - I had kind of big hair. His hair seems a tad flatter than mine.

2. My eyes are brown whereas his are blue but in this pic it's hard to see his eyes are blue and he's got a lot of brown going on with him so when I first looked at this pic all the brown he has going on with him made his eyes seem brown to me. It's not a big deal though (in this pic) because in this pic his eyes do not look obviously blue.

3. His skin is brown and my skin is brown.

4. His nose is like mine - not big or shaped badly in any way.

5. His eyes are set similar to mine although his seem smaller and they look focused/squinty and a little small.

6. In this pic of him he has about the same mix of male/female appearance that I do.

7. The shape of his face looks similar to mine although my cheek bones seem higher and his face looks a smidgen puffier.

What the f*** is wrong with these people?

It's so incredibly rude, and it's the same people who consistently do it. Worse still, when you give the strong indicators that you're uncomfortable with it (like actually having to brush at your hair, and look kinda pissed, normally gives the sign) all they do is wait until you're not looking directly at them, and when your eyes/head turn another direction you can feel them eyeballing the hair line, but it's so blatant. So then you become constantly aware that as soon as you look away you'll get this rude indignity over and over.

OK thanks for clarifying a lot there, when you keep writing your similarities and differences in the present tense (eg "he has the same mix of male/female appearance that I do") are you describing the younger you, or you now?

Basically I'm wondering, apart from hair are you denying that the rest of your features have changed in over 2 decades? Your face is the same shape and just as youthful? And I suppose then, with a hair cure, you would look 22 again?

I suppose I can kinda admire the uh, optimism.

Why don't you post a pic with censored eyes? A pic is way better than this vague description. I'm genuinely curious: I want to see what a self-reported 10/10 looks like.

Those similarities and differences I wrote about were in regards to how he looked in that one pic and how I looked in my early 20s. That one pic of him looks similar to how I looked in real life back then, but not exactly. I would not trade the way I looked back then for the way he looks in that pic or any other pic. I liked the way I looked better.

That was over 20 years ago. I honestly don't know how much my facial looks have changed. I won't be able to tell unless/until I get a bunch of hair. I agree that there is a real possibility that my face has changed (some) while I've been missing hair and I can't see those changes because I'm missing hair. I have to wait to see what I have to work with if/after I get my hair back. If I get my hair back soon I anticipate looking a little different than I used to, but not a lot different.

Also, there are EXTREMELY promising efforts into reversing the entire aging process anyway so maybe we will all soon look exactly like we did when we were 21. I'm keeping a close eye on anti-aging research and I believe a cure could come soon.

No pics please. I only have a couple pics left. I lost almost all of them over the years.

I have moved a handful of times and I've lost almost all of my pics. The few I have left are mediocre pics of me and one is side-view.

And anyway there's a big difference between making judgments about mediocre pics of some guy versus competing against that same guy in real life. A man's TRUE judgments about another man's looks come to light during real-life competition, when one of the men yields. Everything else is just bullshit.

Now can we please focus on Pilofocus.
