@bridgeburn this is an article produced by folliclethought which details some of the promising treatments to come in the near-ish future. Closest one to actually being available seems to be Brotzu, and apparently replicel are aiming for the end of the year. I personally think that Histogen, RiverTown Therapeutics (the trials regrew all hair and also showed regeneration of lost pigment), Brotzu and possibly Aclaris look most promising. I’m frothing to get my hands on some of these things.

Some things to maybe look forward to if you don’t end up getting the results you want anyway.

Here are the results from RiverTown Therapeutics, Brotzu (the little girl), Histogen

s-equol also binds to dht! You could possibly produce your own by eating lots of soy.

trust no hype.

maybe kerastem? which involves injecting fat into the scalp. fat is a source of aromatase so.. .
True. There has been some promising studies involving the localised scalp injection of adipose (fat) derived stem cells regrowing hair very very well also. Basically it’s like scalp fat transplant.

Im skeptical whenever money and commercialism is involved. wonder if they can actually maintain that or if its the initial regrowth and how expensive.
that little girl has alopecia areata though which is different than regular hairloss.

"RiverTown Therapeutics Inc. – RT1640 is composed of minoxidil, cyclosporine-A, and a novel drug RT175."

Cyclosporine?!!! I knew that some people experience hairgrowth side effect from it but that is an Immunosuppresent! with some major potential side effects long term.

"Cyclosporin is a drug typically used in organ transplants to prevent the body rejecting the organ by suppressing the immune system. Cyclosporin has been shown to be very effective orally and only minimally effective topically in growing hair. Unfortunately, it has toxic side effects when used long term that make it a poor choice for use in hair loss."
http://www.regrowth.com/hair-loss-treatments/off-label/cyclosporin/

"The formula was then modified to use DGLA instead of PGE1, because DGLA would not be classified as a drug and would require much less clinical trials to be approved for hair growth."

and yet its still not out :(

I might try the stuff involving stem cells someday if i need to. nice to know theres plenty more options to try. :)

take a look at all this too..

Haha yeah I wondered about how the immunosuppressive properties of cyclosporine would go topically. Perhaps the effects are not systemic. Who knows. Surely if it’s going to cause people to die of aids,
Literally, they wouldn’t even bother giving it a shot.

They are saying Brotzu sometime this year, but I’m not holding my breath. I do want to look more into L-carnitine, Equol and some of those other ingredients in the formula.

I’m thinking stem cells are the way forward, although I think it will be super super expensive, and probably something I would have to travel internationally to do.. because Australia is the last to f*****g get anything ever.

Had a look at that link - interesting. Seems like there are some alternatives to minoxidil,
But I doubt that they would be MORE effective. I’m glad that they cite estrogen. Estrogen is god.

Hey all,

Congrats to bridge burn and thank you for him sharing his story.

I am on Loniten 10 mg for one year (first I bought from ADC) never had any symptoms.
I recently (1 month ago) switched to InHousePharmacy and I am shedding like crazy since a few days!

So i have the feeling one or the other was not selling something real!
As my shedding is now crazy. Maybe it is just the temporary shedding linked to a new drug from IHP working and the old from ADC was fake.... I have no idea!

I am bored to have no prescription and having to buy online.
It is stressing not be sure you get the right products.

I will try to find a Doctor who prescribe me loniten and spironolactone ! Good luck to me ahha

Damn you got those sides from just 5mg oral minoxidil? Do you know what causes the puffiness? It kinda sounds like an allergic symptom but puffiness from oral minoxidil usually goes away after sometime so its definitely not that. Also, are you sure increase in breast size is not due to the fact youre increasing your low E levels by taking a Diane 35 pill?
Its not the pill because I have been using that for almost 3 year, but the breast size could be from Avodart. I think I may be allergic to oral minoxidil to be honest, because I get itchy all over and have had random little rashes pop up on my shoulders and elbow creases. Maybe it’s a case of just having to get used to it, but I don’t really want to wait around with a puffy face long enough to see. I’ve also been feeling really tired and weak, and I’ve got swelling in my ankles also. It’s not a good sign.

Hmmmm, @AnxiousAndy is also shedding recently after switching brands.

did you respond well to ADC loniten the first time? ADC seems to sell generic lonitab not original loniten.

From my experience ADC has sent me genuine products ( spironolactone and finasteride) so I will assume that their Loniten is legit. IHP is also reputable so hopefully for him ( and me) it is just due to switching brands. I'm actually considering jumping back on finasteride since for me my shed began around the same time I dropped it and switched Loniten brands. I will give it another month to see if my shed stops but I may just buy a 3 month supply of finasteride just to be safe.
@julien1200 What is your current regimen?

Legit Lontien is so damn expensive, its like $100 from IHP. From Thailand pharmacy youd get a years supply with $100
I’ve switched before, but I’ve always had a prescription so it’s legit. Never noticed a shed. Alldaypharmacy are pretty legit. I get bimatoprost from them.

I love thailand pharmacy, they always lie on the custom declaration and write "herbal" and say that the value is 5 euro, Lol. they tend to make the package hard to open too, maybe to deter customs?

Have you guys considered going to a dermatologist or a Gp for a script? It might actually be cheaper. I don’t know how expensive prescription minoxidil is in the states but here it’s like $5.40 for 100 tabs. It will last me for ages.

do you put it on your head?
No it would cost an arm and a leg. I use it on my lashes and brows. Makes them really really long and darker. To be honest I have been tempted to try it on my scalp but it would cost so much. I think 6 x 3ml bottles costs like $80 as it is. I would need to cover my whole scalp which is like a bottle a day, so potentially like $100 a week. That’s $5200 a year.

Yeah. Avodart here is $20, same as spironolactone. We have a good pharmaceuticals benefits scheme, but not all drugs are covered. For example if you wanted flutamide you would have to pay quite a lot because it doesn’t come under the scheme. But for the pill, estrogen pills, Propecia/finasteride, avodart, spironolactone, minoxidil, even bimstoprost here, you are looking at $25 and under.

maybe Australia is particularly better at prices when it comes to meds compared to other countries?
