Everyone has to quit being stupid and remember taking any drug is playing the lottery. The doctors, scientists, and even george bush do not have a clue what a drug will do to you for sure. You play the odds when you take this. Odds are good you will be ok, but for some they are not. You know this you decide.
Stacks and stacks of studies, but when 1 merk scientist forgot to carry that 1 you pay for it not merk.

You are right moron. I mean look how ravaged little boys are across America because they have low DHT in their systems.

Yeah and with finasteride you can have the sex drive you had as a 5 year old kid. which was zero.

Look, lets draw a line under this eh? I personally place more weight on the findings of clinical studies then I do on anecdotal evidence on a hairloss forum. I think it's upto new potential users to decide for themselves who they believe, and the risks that they are prepared to take.

No sh*t!, but people should still be allowed to discuss their very reasonable anxietys without being labelled a moron.

Clinical trials are only the starting point. Once it gets to the real world then we know how good or bad a drug is. Drugs that passed are sometimes taken off the market, even 20 years later.

What we are doing here is comparing notes. We try different therapies then comment on them, we try to steer others in the right direction and prevent them from making mistakes through our own experiences.

Don't get me wrong, finasteride and dutasteride will not kill you, but it can alter your lifestyle, that is a fact! It can change your outlook on things and prevent you from enjoying certain aspects of life, that is a fact too. It is worth it? That is something each individual has to decide on his own. For me, NO. What is the good of having a nice head of hair if I cannot enjoy what comes of it. Maybe it is enough for some people, but not for me. I really wish I did not have the side effects from this, it does work for me, but not worth the cost.

Everyone has a right to voice their experience with these drugs, anyone who makes derogatory comments about these people is the real MORON!

From the looks of him, Prince Charles must be on finasteride too, too bad he has not grown hair in return for losing his masculinity. With idiots like you, no wonder you guys lost this country!

Just to chip in... I was on finasteride for just a few days but then get off, as I realized it was changing my hormones on a noticeable level. I started to gain weight, especially in my face. Whether that was fat or estrogen, I'm not sure.

I also want to say that a lot of people defend the treatment they're on because they don't want to hear that ______ caused ______ side effects.

Excuse me once more!

I have not labelled anyone a "moron" for having anxieties about taking this drug. I specifically attacked JohnnySevilles irrational assertion that because drug companies make profits, that therefore means drugs are unsafe.

Whilst its perfectly reasonable and understandable to discuss possible side effects, it's also pefectly reasonable to point out to new users that anecdotal evidence in a hairloss forum is not representative of the probability of side effects.

Hey USMC I should also add the fact that i noticed immediate side effects, im talking like withing the first few days. I got decreased sensitivity, weaker erections within a few days. I don't want to scare you from making a desicion about finasteride. If you are going to try it you will probably be ok. and a week on it probably wont cause any lasting damage. I would suggest that if you do try it, IF you get side effects right away, just stop taking it before your body readjusts your hormones to compensate for decreased DHT. good luck. sorry to freak you out

I was only saying what we already know. When you take a drug of any kind no matter how well it was tested you are taking a chance. That chance might be sitting in your chair and wondering why your back aches, or why you cant think clearly. Most likely its nothing, but you will never ever know what really caused that the drug somehow or its just normal.

No one ever said low DHT will kill you. All I said was there is uncertainty with any drug. Lets put it this way if you have a heart attack 24 years from now most likely it had nothing to do with finasteride, but you will never know for sure what if any role DHT, higher estrogen, had to do with it.

Thats not true. I hate to just slam most people on here, but sometimes I think people fight male pattern baldness solely to make up for weaknesses in there own personality, and just solely out of fear of getting older. Its the same reason women fight wrinkles. I mean we get older we get wrinkles, our face changes, our body changes. You can never ever beat all these things nature decides it. But hey lets all keep fighting the losing fight and pretend we stay young right!
Its just pretty stupid. You will wake up 40 years old some day and go oh no I think I see some wrinkles and off you go on the next male pattern baldness hunt for fighting wrinkles. Science will never have magic bullets for all these things, sometimes you just have to accept this crap. People with severe problems have a legitimate reasons.

Im 24 and I can assure you hair will get you noticed, but hair isnt going to get her to love you. I can promise you that it comes down to you as a person not the hair. The hair just gets your foot in the door you still have to sell the product thats the hard part. I mean every person knows MOST women have some weird fixation on personality, but some sl*ts are all about looks that is true maybe 1 out of 5.
