Of course you could be right.
They're a bunch of bright guys from Boston, i dont see them investing time and funds money for something like that.
Studies on valproic acid for hair growth are not so clear at the moment but it could be just one of the points we're missing here.
We complained about the hormonal way, this is the best next thing

We know follica abandoned valproic acid though, their trial yielded worse results than minoxidil alone

We already had a study recently come out proving that you don't need to remain on minoxidil for life. Maybe you'll need top up treatments every year. Follica's treatment will likely require in-office treatments every two weeks for at least 3 months. I imagine there will be some kind of package deal if you sign up for 3 months. You could repeat it to improve results.
So does this mean you would not need minoxidil at all?

But were there any results at all using PRP?

My doctor is recommending it since I don't can't have a transplant due to diffuse thinning.
When I was recovering from finasteride sides and testosterone etc was still low, the prp regrow some hair but it fell out couple mo ths later. So it works much better if on antiandrogen. Now that androgens are much higher, the prp slows down shedding a bit for a month then resumes its normal destructive ways, no real regrowth anymore. If I were wealthy I could probably get it done monthly and maintain but that isnt the case. Hope that helps you

I Googled "duration of phase 3 trials,"
Well as I saw phase 3 trials acording to fda last between 1 to 4 years.
Hope that follica will announce the exact duration of their phase...

Following the Follica Protocol while using oral minoxidil, the application of minoxidil on the scalp seems redundant or is it still necessary?

I thought this made sense (from a user called PinoQ on HLC2020):
"Just throwing a micro grain of optimism out there, if your looking for one………..Follica is no doubt limping toward initiating their Phase 3 trial with their disclosure last week of positive FDA feedback, and now an update on the Puretech time line showing Phase 3 ready: https://puretechhealth.com/product-candidates/details/follica
Also, it is somewhat intriguing that Phase 3 will include a maximal use study (conducted to assess the bio-availability of topical drug products intended for local therapeutic effects), possibly indicating the treatment includes a compound other than minoxidil. You would have to think that maximal use studies would have been conducted long ago on minoxidil unless they are re-assessing bio-availability in conjunction with micro-needling."

I don't even get why this needs FDA approval, for the device? Something that is only 1mm of depth...

Because it will sell to clinics better. Docs like it when the FDA label is stamped on stuff. Heck even the grow band and laser helmets got FDA approved (maybe class 2 but still)

Class 2 is FDA cleared and it's necessary in order for them to allow it to be marketed to clinics for the purpose of hair loss treatments

Follica an even bigger joke than Tsuji and Samumed at this point.

Follica's only product that could actually release is a glorified dermapen.

Follica was so damn cocky, pretended like their dermapen was a cure
