Notice how Follica's microneedling protocol is more intense than aggressive microdermabrasion, which essentially scrubs off the entire top layer of skin. The point here is to needle every square nanometer of skin which I can almost guarantee no one has been doing. If people start doing this we should start seeing even better/quicker results than what we already have from needling.

This is depressing. I don't think we will be able to copy this level of wounding at home.

I'm gonna still try 30 minute sessions.

Has anybody figured out if we should put minoxidil immediately afterwards?

Remember that the chinese study also used that same every two weeks frequency and they actually applied minoxidil on that very day too.

Is the topical that's going to be offered by follica going to be normal minoxidil? Or is it going to be mixed with some sort of dht inhibitor?

Jerry Cooley trialed plucking a number of years back. Failed to produce reliable and repeatable results (oooo nice r combo there).

The quorum sensing study shows that if you only pluck a few hairs they don't grow back. You'd have to pluck pretty much every hair to initiate quorum sensing, which is why microneedling is easier.

Is the topical that's going to be offered by follica going to be normal minoxidil? Or is it going to be mixed with some sort of dht inhibitor?

Just minoxidil as far as we know, but there may be something more later on. The patent does talk about finasteride and dutasteride as potential treatments.

Just tried this yesterday afternoon for the 1st time, .75mm with my D2. Only did it on the temples and about 2 inches behind the hairline as that is where my loss is concentrated. Slightly painful but definitely manageable. Definitely felt different than previous sessions, maybe slightly surburn like feeling but mostly the area felt numb. This morning the entire area is still very pink.

I also tried the protocol on my face and neck at .25mm. Not necessarily the same number of passes as I did on my head but definitely did in some areas. Hopefully will have a noticeable difference there as well.

I think the reason why they use only 1mm is because if they were to use the other way where they go really deep then with then density they would truly butcher their scalps. Just imagine that density at 2-3mm depth. There would be blood all over the place.

Maybe 36pins cartridge would be more efficient ? what you guys think, cause almost everybody that is needling is using 12pins or a 192 pins dermaroller .

I think in the end 1.5mm is not necessarely needed, since the first study on needling involved 1.5 dermaroller and i highly doubt these needles were going full depth .

I just massacred my scalp for over a half hour, by far the longest I've done it yet. My scalp hasn't felt this raw since the first time I ever dermarolled.
Enjoy the next 48hrs sweating or anything that raises your heart rate is fun my head had the texture of a decorative autumn squash by day three.
Post needling RAW is the word, its not a collection of random sharp pains for me but a hive mind of burning throbbing. Minoxidil application was tough to spread due to pain and texture resistance i normally use a blunt needle 1ml syringe for accuracy i ended up just using the spray bottle and showering in it.

Glad to hear some people are trying this protocol. I'll join in soon.

How is the redness after 24h? After 48h? After 72h?

Do you guys draw any blood or not?

No definable blood spots for me ,but my needle cartridge was a pink, plasma, skin, slimy chuck in the bin mess. red 72hours pealed like crazy for the next 48hours after so was normalized and pain free by day 5 have a Boris Johnson comb over so skin being mess didn't concern me.
only ever had sun burn a few times on backs of my hands id say it was very similar to that duration ,sensation, looks and pealing. Tho that's just me a top hair transplant surgeon said i had most lax skin he had ever seen so i may have different results than the median person.

Redness is mostly subsided after 12 hours. Some pinpoint bleeding. Lots of burning when adding topicals, skin sensitive to touch last night, but no pain in the morning, and scalp is just kind of numb. I think you build up a tolerance to it over time. I worked my way up to doing 30 minutes, so it would probably hurt more/longer for someone who has only lightly needled. Previous session I needled for 20 minutes, and this time 30 minutes. The first time I ever used a dermaroller for about 10 minutes I had trouble sleeping due to how sensitive my scalp was to touch. In time it got to where there was no discomfort from the moment the session was over. This 30 minute microneedling session took me back to close to how it felt that first time that I dermarolled. I wonder if you get diminishing returns with wounding as you build up tolerance to it.

Hmm like a weightlifting style callus on the scalp you mean or deeper nervous system "oh it just that again its not a real injury lets half *** it "respose from the body , Theres only 24 sessions a year for tolerance build up possibly 12 maintenance . so hopefuly 100 sessions till a real cure lol.
I can see the drop off rate for this being high. i literally know how many days i have till next session as it was so bad my mind don't let me forget

Exactly, the nerve endings just become desensitized. I always dreaded wounding day, but not as much as I do now. You have to really believe in what you're doing to follow through with this. I basically stabbed myself in the head over a half-million times last night for hair. Then another 100,000 times on the face to combat minoxidil sides lol

personally apart from a hardening barrier of skin i cant see a drop off response being likely apart from cellular aging or other health conditions unless minoxidil loses its effect in its part the whole idea of needling is stem cell stimulation and restoration well i hope anyhow .
The best part is you cant zone out you have to be focused
i meant to be doing the face bi weekly but crows feet and dark rings don't really worry me right now and i worried il be wasting body resources lol . i make it only 320000 stabs per 200cm2 so only 7680000 for one year trialing this. Then only 460800000 if we live 60 years after that.
This is going to be a breeze we got this
