Yeah, like I was saying earlier, IMO it's probably not an issue if you overdo it (within reason). 1600 is so stupid-dense that I'm guessing they only stopped there for practical reasons. They probably ran out of un-poked skin left to hit.
I beleave i worked out a while back perfect derminator 2 needling on a unobstructed scalp would take 17 mins non stop when you factoring hair resistance, times and patterns go out the window.
we all been doing far less than needed im not sure what far more than needed would be like or easy to achieve as your be hitting same holes at certain point. but im aiming for 1800 so i know i im at least at 1400 at the least .
Im disinclined to beleave plucking as i had back waxed for several years and the back hair eventually gave up tho that could be long term finasteride related its not something i would have the balls to try as its a direct assault on the follicle lol.
shock and awe needling is the closest we can get to a controlled burning in similarity to damage done i cant think of any other way of safely doing it or would be acceptable for marketing , im sure i read that follica tried dermabrasion but the complete removal didn't trigger the response so my interpretation of that is to devastate but not wipe out the tissue.

So moving in a circular motion for 5 to 6 seconds on a spot of 1 square centimeter to get roughly the required density? I cant think of another approach when thinking of circular motions.
Seems to me that we will still miss a few areas of skin that needs to be needled
You don't have to forcus on one square centimeter at a time. You can move it in larger overlapping circles sort of like these. Don't pick up the pen, and don't stop, just keep moving in a circular motion. You can do it in lines of a few cm across the scalp, or you can do the whole left temple, then the forelock area, then the other temple and so on. This might be easier for you. Don't be too worried about precision, it's more important to worry about being thorough. If you have to go over the same area twice to make sure you get the area next to it, that's fine.
You're exactly right, we want to wound the skin, not remove it.
If all hairs are plucked then then there is zero regrowth. Plucking is not the solution at all. This is a mouse study, and I do not think that just plucking would be sufficient in humans with Androgenetic Alopecia even if it were feasible, which it's not. It would take hours and hours to pluck at the right density. We can still learn things from the plucking response as it relates to microneedling.

That chart is interesting if im reading it correctly and hopefully tells the story of why this is so hit and miss for people, there's almost no response till you hit the Goldilocks Zone of damage there's no gradual increase it spikes,
but are needles capable of us over shooting the Goldilocks Zone in a way equivalent to a total plucking i think not unless you literally remove the top 1mm with some sort of crazy needle erosion borderline dermabrasion.
Im hoping our nervous system would object and we would tap out before we got that far .
I don't see why a Dr Pen must be done in circles just because the needles have an circular orientation. This doesn't make sense. You also have a tendency to go into the skin on angles when you're costantly moving about in circles. I can't really keep up quality penetration angles doing circles for the entire duration, especially the rear.
not handled a dr pen so cant really speak on it i think derminator 2 is half maybe a third its size so i can practically cup it in my hand i never feel like im tilting off kilter how ever i handle it tho. The dr pen is closer to the hz needed than the derminator 2 so requires less time needling i was going to get one but decided to stick with the d2 dues to 34 1/2 needle gauge

I went ahead and tried 1.75 on my abs last night after doing my head. I'm a bodybuilder and would like to tighten up somewhat. I think I went to close to the Follica technique with the 1.5 because I can see all my work in bright red. My head, by contrast, while pleasantly sore all around, only has spots of redness.
The thing about the body though is there's literally no pain at all. At least for me. Is this normal? I could do that all day. Went over white lat stretch marks and it actually felt great, like getting a back scratch.

So, aside from all the other spam in this thread, has anybody else been trying this out at home? What’s your experience so far? I’ve been trying it, and I’ve never seen my needles covered with so much pink scalp residue before. It’s pretty brutal, but not as bad as 1.5-2.0mm. I’ve seen a few new vellus hairs, but nothing to brag about so far. Just curious how everyone else’s experience/results have been.
