That´s true, but people rate your looks on a subconscious level. So if you have gone from Norwood 1 to a thin Norwood 2, they might not see you as really balding, but rather as not being good-looking anymore.

I don't know, I don't think going from those 2 degrees of hair loss would make that much of a difference, unless the NW2 was see-through thin. Also, I like your user name and your photo too.

I teach English at a Japanese junior high school. I've been at it for 2 and a half years. Nobody has mentioned it before now. I had a hair transplant in August at my hairline and temples. The transplanted area is covers except where I part my hair at the centre. Today students pointed at it and said bald in Japanese, I knew what they meant but when they said it I ignored it and hoped they would leave it, but no, they went on to look up the word in the dictionary and then shout out bald. A crushing moment... Totally mortifying...
I think they just meant the transplanted hairs that are still thin, or at least I hope so... If my scalp is visible elsewhere under classroom lighting I don't know.

When I was in 7th grade, we had a young English teacher - he was only 23, but he looked 40 due to the fact that he was bald. There was this one kid who always made bald jokes to the teacher's face and the whole class would laugh their asses off. Back then it seemed like innocent fun. It is only now that I myself am going bald at a young age that I realize how devastating it must have been for him.

All you can do is learn from this - try to be a better person than you were back then.

That's true. But it won't help stop him from becoming a victim of bald shaming though. Unfortunately.

No it won't. The people who have their hair are just like he was when he had his hair... when he laughed with that kid that bald-shamed their teacher. What goes around really does come around. And the world keep turning round and round.

This is true, Japanese people are usually a bit more polite but it is unusual for men under 40 to be balding here for sure...

Wow, they keep their hair for that long? How do they do it? Sushi with high protein?

No, sadly it doesn't. Some people spend their entire life f*****g others over, and still live a long happy life.

It may have something to do with Soy, from which equol an anti androgen is derived. Tofu, miso, Soy sauce, that stuff may help. Primarily genetics though. Japanese men have God tier hair genes, Japanese women and girls usually have higher hairlines than men and boys. Combined with naturally low hair density but generally thick hair shaft diameter.

Is there anyway to make it clear to these little bastards that a good portion of them will suffer hair loss themselves as they age?
Seriously!

Or is this concept a bit too advanced for these special needs kids?

They're Japanese kids. Most of them won't go bald, or at the very least not until they're middle aged.
Funnily enough it was only the boys, none of the girls made comments, possibly because so many of them have thin hair themselves.

Well, at least they are honest, now let us imagine how many people "in the west" are thinking like "Oh, the loser is going bald", but don´t say a word about it.

The only thing Asians lie about are their orgasms. Ever see an asian porno? Those girls are clearly faking it.

Damn that's a much better name! Yo Wold Pack, can we change our usernames?

Hopefully in 3-4 mi the when my hair transplant grows in to 80% they won't think I'm balding anymore...

Happened again today... They are t letting up. One boy mentioned the word bald then put some tape down the middle of another boys head and pulled it off... f*** this is getting rough... Almost Christmas break, won't have to see them for a couple of weeks, hopefully I'll have a bit more regrowth by mid January when school starts up again...
Damn though... Teaching while balding/recovering from a hair transplant is rough...

I feel for ya!
I had to deliver a demonstration today about proper procedures regarding the use of work place tools, to some new recruits.

The women were staring at my crutch while the men stared at my hairline.
