This motherfucker in pic related should f*****g die a painful death, just like the NW1 middle aged hunk in @sunchyme1 post.

Daily reminder that when women say bald is beautiful, they refer to buzzed NW1. True bald is not considered because they unconsciously rule it out from the partner pool.

Also the article in OP post made me sad. The amount of cope is enormous. Baldness ruins identities every day, still 90% of the population (women and fullheads) completely ignore or mock this disease. Life is sh*t.

dark features are key.

tanned skin, dark stubble, and thick dark brows makes a huge difference when pulling off the shaved look.

THIS, is what screams out to me about the whole thing.

It sums up why baldness is a unique pain to go through, because nobody understands what you go through. You end up blaming yourself, if it happens to a young man in the latter crucial parts of his social formative years then it's likely he'll end up with a host of other insecurities and psychological issues.

It's not just the crippling it does aesthetically, that's only half the battle, the other half is how other people patronise you and make you feel sh*t about how undeniably awful it is.

Even look at this video, the girl reacts like "are you actually embarrassed? Why? LOL" and his natural reaction is "well how would YOU feel if your hair was gone?" of course this isn't even weighted up as an actual question, because it's happening to him, not her, it's not her problem, she can sit cosy on the outside of this drastic situation and act all empowering like a good person should. She can patronise his problem, like everyone else, as being "just hair" and make him feel stupid for feeling bad about it.

He shouldn't feel stupid, he should have the right to feel sh*t about something that is definitely sh*t.

It may even be exaggerating to say it's half the battle, that may be an understatement. The fact that this becomes every man's privately deep insecurity means that it inevitably isolates you from many people in life, from family, best friends, and even your partner, you know that nobody will truly understand how it makes you feel. At best, if you open up about it, you could take an incredibly compassionate person who cares about you and they will at least try to understand you, sensitively, but they never will. This is the best case scenario, usually they won't even try.

Usually? "LOL do you actually care about your little follicles?"

To add to this, I started receding at age 16. Somehow it's been a very slow process, I didn't reach over NW2 until mid 20's when I started treatments, but it was recession no doubt, and it fucked with me so much (and continues to).

I can't lecture anyone who truly went bald by their early 20's, but when it comes to male pattern baldness giving you BDD and other issues, I'm your prime example. It's why I often write not just about the aesthetic crippling of baldness but how the inevitable and slow process (if you're lucky) fucks with you, that's what I've had.

Yesterday my friend showed me our old high school year book and I remember seeing that photo of me, age 18 at the time, and being disgusted at my huge forehead and receding temples, which made my other features seem ridiculous, bug eyes, bloated, weird mouth. And now I see it? 8/10 slayer. What the actual f*** was I thinking, and what do I continue to think about myself. When I saw that year book I had this instant tension inside me of wondering what that photo was like, I think I still have that year book but haven't looked at it since because of the anxiety of it.

I'm not at all trying to compare BDD about "baldness" with actually going bald (as this causes much worse BDD in itself) but I definitely understand how it fucks with your perception of yourself.

I don't even know what to think of myself now, I only know I'm good looking because I've been told it and have that attention, in my own mind I don't know what I look like because pictures and videos of me seem horrific, the mirror can mean some days I look literally ugly to myself, below average, and other days good. I'm sick of thinking about it, I don't have a perception of myself aesthetically anymore, I don't know what people are seeing when they look at me, in videos I think I look like a retard, months later I'll see the same ones maybe when I'm caught off guard, and I look fine. f*** this.

i was joking around mate. hes literally the only guy who looks better balding becos of his looks.

there arent too many photos of him with a full head because hes starting losing early

There was a radio interview with Dr. Cotsarelis a number of years ago and the hosts made a comment about baldness making men look 'hypermasculine'... it's not exactly a good thing, but in some cases it works. As is the usual, there's always an exception to the rule.
