You really need to let go of your bias toward Ripple; the use case is clear, it is amazing for banks to use for international transfers and it is blistering fast (instant actually). They are a proper company with a ridiculous amount of money allocated for development and marketing, and they will use it. You may find that even in a decentralized world, centralized payment processing via the likes of XRP/XLM might be the best scenario. It certainly beats having to pay $50 transfer fees to send BTC. In fact, i'd say the only dogshit coin right now is BTC, and many people are starting to realize it.

I own both XRP & XLM - i'd rather see XLM win because it is more of a people's coin, but if XRP wins that i won't be bothered by it since i'll make money either way.

And in saying that I'm not saying anyone shouldn't buy it for diversification purposes or that it won't go up, just that the arguments for specifically xrp and not just the ripple platform as one of the major cryptocurrencies is laughable.

There should be no problem in having one
offbeat thread in Impact of hairloss.
Many people do not visit off topic threads.

Interesting behaviours should always be observed, researched and improvise it further for user friendliness.

This is not just for website, but for every fields.

Given the thread is 99.9999% discussion about non-hairloss we should probably move it to off-topic. Don't get me wrong, i set it up in the Impact section because i really wanted to see if we collectively could make money with Crypto currency so that we could all afford to get hair transplants, etc, but i would understand completely if at this point the thread was moved.

Both XRP and XLM provide NETWORK and not the TOKEN(XRP/XLM) to the banks. Do you really think banks will adopt XRP/XLM tokens for transfer with all the whales sitting around or they will issue their own cryptotokens on the network to do the transfer of money ?

True, but I think many people (myself included) like reading this thread.
Consider the whole world discusses crypto ATM...
I would consider it an exception to the impact section for now :)

This is retarded and self defeating. Zuckerberg could've easily scored more beautiful woman if he wanted to.

Bitcoin Dominance heading below 40%...

I think this is great for cryptocurrencies as a whole, as it makes the total market cap less volatile ie
even if BTC had a 50% bearish run to cca 7000 usd a piece, the total market cap soon wouldn't get below
500B.

Looks like Ripple will replace Bitcoin, I backed the wrong horse.

Usually I don't like giving advice, so please understnad this just as an opinion...

As I have understood, you lack both time and (maybe) also motivation to thoroughly screen for cryptos
with good underlying fundementals and hence potential for growth. If this is the case I would choose
a very simple approch of regularly periodic and growth dependant buys. Periodic buys is straight forward ie
100usd every week as an example. With growth dependant buys I mean, say if the total market cap today
exceeds 650B usd, you will then (independent od periodic) buys crypto for an extra 100usd, but you will spread
the weight of the buys by the respective cryptos market cap.

Example: If bitcoin has an market cap of 40%, you will invest 40 usd (of that 100) into Bitcoin. And so on.
This way, you will eventually have backed the right horse no matter what. This is real diversification.
To make matters easier, I would also set an entry level market cap for cryptos to invest, so f. ex.
every crypto that makes 5B market cap gets 50 usd.

Hope this makes sense man!

Edit: This way you will avoid participation in speculation, because while the total market cap of all cryptos does move very slowly, people are trading on for the other very often. You will hence avoid fees of trading, and buy only when the real (total) market cap grows ie the importance and weight of cryptos in general economy.
Cheers

You are being delusional if XRP will last. Almost any coin you pick in top 10 will grow, don't let the greed overtake you and especially don't put all your eggs in one basket. I love Ethereum, but I also invested in XRP, I knew it will go up because of everyone seeing it's cheap.

The thing is, with this marketcap and it's price right now, it will be hard to go over 5$, not impossible.

In the longer term if it is replaced it is likely to be Ethereum as it actually has a valid usecase and value proposition unlike Ripple beyond just "oh look it's cheap" and "oh look they have banks involved!". The kind of things noobs who haven't done their research fall for (which of course in the short term can still do wonders for price).

A similar situation to where we are now in regards to Ripple, Eth and BTC market caps and movements happened earlier this year and bitcoin rocketed up again. This market is entirely cyclical and very little buying is based on fundamentals, only occasionally with micro-cap coins with hype like Raiblocks a month ago.

Best way to look at this market is either with a traders mentality and follow the cycles and pumps, or look at it with a 3-5 year timeframe and industry macro approach similar to how many active equity fund managers approach stocks. Ripple doesn't have a long term future. In the short term its worth holding for only diversification purposes or to follow the beginning of a new pump cycle.

You happy with the recent development of RaiBlocks I'm sure! You bastard :p

I'm keen to see the total market cap go beyond 700B !

Wish I'd put more in it, bought some more earlier today for bitcoin. My mate broke his $2000 Tag Heuer watch and was bitching about a $1000 in repair fees and I was joking how if he'd bought rai when I told him he could have just got rid of it and bought one of these

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/rolex-datejust-model-116300-new-model-with-papers-and-box-41mm/152778543916?hash=item23924f932c:g:iHcAAOSwrhBZEA3S

If I do another 5x on rai I might get one.
