A lumen is the SI unit for flux in the visible part of the spectrum. Virtually all of the visible light in the universe comes from stars, so stars have a near monopoly on lumens, hence stellar lumens are good for people interested in natural monopolies.
The majority of the remaining light comes from accreting active galactic nuclei, so AGN Lumens could be a good companion currency.
