So I shaved my head and the hairline I’ve noticed has moved back in a more V shape as it has been growing back in.

Been on Avodart since 2020 and maybe it’s losing its effectiveness or maybe this is caused by another androgen on my scalp that isn’t DHT?

Maybe, but if your goal is to keep your hairline in the exact same place, as you age, that's going to be difficult even with finasteride or dutasteride.

You are kind of left with a choice either throw every other treatment and the kitchen sink at it in the hope you can weld it in the same place or lower your expectations on what a good response from 5-Ari's use is.

What about Ru-5 to fight the testosterone on the scalp. Do you think that will do it?

I don't know I haven't tried RU, but it would depend on whether you want to be shackled to applying it continually from this point on, just to try and recover an extra 5mm of hairline.

Sorry to hear that friend. Sounds like it’ll need to be a transplant
I can´t get a transplant. First I am too young for a transplant, second you cant transplant a diffuse thinner that hasn't stabilized his hair loss. Can't do sh*t at this ponit. I'm just praying for Pyrilutamide to work alongside dutasteride to finally stop this sh*t. If it doesn't work, I'm fucked forever and with an asymmetrical head, it won't be very nice....

Options: increase to 2.5mg dutasteride (blocks 85% scalp DHT), oral minoxidil, RU or topical bica. But you are in good shape for a transplant when you are old enough. Not like you really need one though.

Isn't 2.5mg dutasteride too much? I'm thinking on increasing it to 1mg but 2.5 are 5 pills of avodart. Sounds crazy.

Hairline is receding fast and thinning all over the scalp. Dutasteride and oral minoxidil are usseles at least for me.
Thats because dutasteride at 0.5mg only blocks 50% of scalp dht. You litteraly got 50% that Still sits around on your scalp and eats your hair away lmao.

I wouldn’t do it personally but some people do it.
Wouldnt needling and applying dutasteride topically aswell help? I think my scalp itches more ever since dropping topical dutasteride but it could just be in my head. I used both Topical and oral dutasteride before quit topical 2 weeks ago. Shedding is same.

It probably does reduce scalp DHT a bit more when used together, yes. We just don’t have a study to tell us, but I suspect there is improvement.

it’s also possible that these people don’t have the genes that work well with dutasteride and should be on finasteride instead.

Around 57 or 58% only. Just needled with 1.5mm and applied dutasteride topically gonna do this once weekly. Dutasteride got over 500 daltons so u need to needle for it to even reach the folicles.
Can I use a needle with 1mm depth? I've tried with 1.5mm and it is very painful for me, because I already have trichodynia, so my scalp hurts 24/7. It is more efficient to do that instead, because is only once a week and you dont have to waste 2 pills every day.

Is there any study that proves how genes impact on the efficacy of dutasteride/finasteride. It would be interesting to read. Btw my case is kinda hard because treatment did work at first but it stopped to work 6 months ago. I suspect the gains were due to oral minoxidil, because I started dutasteride 2 months before oral minoxidil and I saw no improvents on hair thinning or density till i added oral minoxidil, when I added it, hair started to grow again, but now androgens could be killing the follicles even tho I'm on a higher dose of oral minoxidil than I was when I first started.
