Options: increase to 2.5mg dutasteride (blocks 85% scalp DHT), oral minoxidil, RU or topical bica. But you are in good shape for a transplant when you are old enough. Not like you really need one though.
I thought 0.5mg Dutasteride blocks 90% DHT? So what if I started taking two pills of Avodart a day instead of one surely that would block close to 100% no?
Is there any study that proves how genes impact on the efficacy of dutasteride/finasteride. It would be interesting to read. Btw my case is kinda hard because treatment did work at first but it stopped to work 6 months ago. I suspect the gains were due to oral minoxidil, because I started dutasteride 2 months

Can I use a needle with 1mm depth? I've tried with 1.5mm and it is very painful for me, because I already have trichodynia, so my scalp hurts 24/7. It is more efficient to do that instead, because is only once a week and you dont have to waste 2 pills every day.
You sure that trichodynia isnt making your hairloss worse? Having scalp pains doesnt sound good..1mm is ok. And I would recommend a derma pen those big ones not round and small ones.

That’s serum DHT. I was referring to scalp DHT. 0.5mg blocks something around 50% and 2.5mg blocks 85%. As far as serum, yes, both are over 90%.

Yeah some people here have cited studies on gene response to different 5ARIs. I don’t have them on hand.

and I agree with you that your results were from OM and that you need to address the androgens.

I think trichodynia is caused by excessive hair loss. When I had my hair loss under control, the pain ceased, but now that I'm having excessive hair loss again, the pain started. About dermapen, I have the dr pen a6, dont know if that one is good.

But you can use your expensive dr pen too ofc. Would just take longer to get full coverage.
Gonna try topical duta after the appointment with my trichologist this wednesday. I don't think he can offer me much other than increasing oral minoxidil and recommending me a f*****g expensive topical finasteride 1%.

Dutasteride is a go hard or go home drug. If you want temple regrowth you are better off just adding oral minoxidil and RU

You expected to see results from dutasteride after only 2 months? It’s possible you are now just experiencing the typical shed that accompanies the start of dutasteride use.

No. I have been using it for 1 year and 3 months. I already experienced the inicial shed and got my peak results on the 8 month mark. What is happening now is a mess, and it wouldn't surprise me that androgens are the culprit of it, because the pattern is the same as it used to be before starting dutas and minoxidil.
