Seriously, in recent months I have absolutly zero motivation to hit the gym or go running. Why should I care about being good-looking, when won´t be because of my hair? I try to tell myself, that I might just wear a hat and still be a bit good-looking, but it is just not the same, it is like one big lie. Plus every good hair looks better even with a dumb haircut than the best hat in the world.

So, I might consider just getting fat and even uglier, I have already gained some love handles around the hips in recent weeks. Might have been the dutasteride, but I have no energy to watch my nutrition or work in the gym.

ah, the eternal struggle of "what's even the f*****g point"??? I feel you man. My hair is ruined, for real. Nowadays, I force myself to work harder, go the gym, etc.. not because of the benefits, because I simply enjoy it. Working out is something to do after work to keep my mind busy, and it makes me feel temporarily better. Working all day consumes my mind (in a good way) so I don't think about hair loss. I also adopted a very sweet, playful puppy that helps me stay semi-positive. it's just about keeping your sanity, anyway you can.

Wear a cap, and go to the gym?

A popular style I see of balding men in my gym

I just keep telling myself that my hair will be restored to NW1 in the next couple years, via new treatments or transplant as last resort.

Right now I'm NW2 ish so you can't really notice anything in how I style my hair. Still get attention from the opposite sex as well.

Hope keeps me motivated, lol

I wear a hat to the gym to cover my NW2.5 when my combover isn't up to par

I work out for myself. My face may be ugly but by God, I won't be a fat out of shape slob. I wouldn't be able to live with myself.

To borrow a phrase from CopeForLife, I find sustenance from from the other fat slobs around me.

I wear one when I am on rotation working. When I get home I don't have time to style, and care. Hat goes a long way in preventing the sh*t feeling associated with having to netaciously style to look good. Just throw on and hit the weights. All though when I am off, I usually never wear one. Haircut every 10 days to maintain the fade goes along way

At the gym, 89% of hat wearers are usually balding from what I noticed. You get the odd 20% that wear because they like hats, and it's an entity to there style

Yep true, but saying that heaps of the young guys at my gym (25 or under) wear hats just cause as you said its their style..
Even if I'm balding I refuse to wear a hat at the gym to cover it up.
Going to the gym and feeling dem muscles getting bigger is a great feeling

A bit of gym, running or another cardio sport is the best.

Gymceling is an evil.

It is not to make you more attractive.

It is for NOT TO BE f*****g FAT and for health.

Also it keeps mind bused.

You cannot afford yourself to be try hard.

In gym.

In clothes.

If you are ugly and tryhard it is PATHETIC.

Example of fit guy who I doubt even lifting (bro)

He is tan and fit. Not bulked up or another cope sh*t.

I know it is not correct to compare them since their faces are on different ends of spectrum but still.

I applaud you. Finding the motivation to even try. I don't know how you can do it, but that's great, man.

Motivation to learn a foreign language and sticking with it like you did is harder.

Here's motivation for you:

Going to the gym changed me from a 5 to a 7 (unless you disagree).

I know I'm not in perfect shape and I still have 10lbs to lose - but still, I think I look better now.

I did a lot of neck, shoulder and traps exercises and it helps me look more manly. Its also made my jaw a little bigger

Note: I look like a full head in the after pic because of styling and toppik

(that first picture is a really bad one of me but I'm using to make the point)

Your neck looks massive in that second pic. What neck work did you do?

Yeah, I am badly diffusing all over (DUPA) and I have just buzzed it, but in a few months when my hair is long again I might wear my hat in a way that would make it look like I am having a full head of hair by exposing the frontal hairs. So I might even fool some expert Norwood spotters. But in the end this would make my life even a bigger lie.

Not really -- you just wouldn't be putting out your faults on display.
Everybody puts out their best side. The best haircuts, the best beard shaves, the most flattering clothes.

A few things to keep in mind.

Working out, staying healthy, keeping fit and regular exercise helps you in much more ways than just your appearance.

You will have more energy, improved mood, better able to deal with anxiety/stress, greater longevity, greater strength and in general you will be more healthy.

Also whilst your appearance may never be as good as you wished, or even good enough to get girls or whatever, it's still a good feeling for your appearance to improve rather than get worse. As balding and ageing men we often have to look in the mirror and think "this is the best I'll ever be, it's downhill from here". Working out can change that, and simply going in the other direction feels good regardless of how fucked you still are.

I motivate myself by thinking about the reality of my situation. There are things out of my control, ageing, shortness, high hairline, average face. I can't change these things and I can't change the fact that they make it hard for me to get girls regardless of everything else. I simply can't change that. So the only thing left is to improve what I can change. And so that is what I focus on. It can depress me when I put a lot of effort in without any results in terms of getting girls. But as I said it's nice to at least be improving, and smoking weed, eating and watching tv gets boring as f***, there is no feeling of achievement and the feeling of achieving something is addictive.

, but I would be forced to train with good-looking guys with perfect physiques and be mocked and ridiculed by them.

If you have any spare room where you live, then work out at home. That's what I do. That's what I have always done and i'm in good shape.
You don't need a gym full of equipment to get in shape. You can buy basic stuff to start out with, chin up bar, bar and some plates and a small adjustable bench. Then over time add more. What you'll be putting into a gym membership, you could spend on your own stuff.
There's nothing like coming home after work and working out straight away. Instead of driving to the gym and working out with a bunch of grunting meat heads who are coughing and sneezing all over the equipment.
