If you are losing a lot of hair and went from nw1 to nw2 while still shedding a lot it sounds like male pattern baldness to me.

From your new pictures I can see you have a problem Toms, but your hair still looks good. Hopefully if you are on meds you can maintain what you have.

Nope, no meds, I am extremely prompt to gyno so no anti androgens for me

That is exactly the reason why Im depressed, I shed alot, 50hairs fall out while I style it. I know where this is heading and I can do nothing about it.

Toms, I thought you've looked into RU58841? That treatment is perhaps your best option since you can't take Finasteride.

I'm not sure what your current regimen is, but having a proper one should really help out a ton with your hair. Also, having a proper regimen for your hair should help with your confidence and have you less depressed. Me personally, doing that helped out a lot.

Yep, you are receding. Any signs of diffuse hairloss? I dont understant why some of you give him hard time. I know that there are plenty of 30something receders on this forum in NW3-4 territory.. And Toms is only 20. Most of receders were "there" at that age.
It sucks, for sure.. theres a long fight ahead of you, my friend.. Or not, if your male pattern baldness is ex. aggressive.

Damn Toms you definitely have some recession. Dude you have to try to stop it. Don't just throw in the towel. Trust me when I say this, You Will Regret It Later. I know your tales of gyno, but you should look into any alternatives to finasteride, even RU. I didn't start treating my hair loss early and I regret it every day. I just hate to see guys going down the same path that I did. You will be where I was in my mid 20's. By that time I started buzzing my hair and was never satisfied with how I looked from that point on. I know you have plans on getting huge and shaving and hope you can pull off that look, but what if you cant. Then what?

I had friends in high school with even worse hairlines like that at they stayed the same and 2 NW1s back then are NW5 right now. That's the scary part of male pattern baldness, some men have a slow process and others are not so fortunate. I don't know how you know you'll get gyno but I know it's a much smaller risk for 1 mg Finasteride (Propecia) than 5 mg which is what most articles use to report side effects. I think you should start using any treatment you're comfortable with just so you have piece of mind. At least you know you've done everything you can and the feeling of control will make you focus on other things.

The first dermatologic I saw said that the only meds that worse they do so by castrating you and laughed at me. The second one was so cool and said that I have a much higher risk of dying from a brick in my head while walking the streets in an earthquake (I live in a highly seismic area) and gave me finasteride. 9 days and no side effects.

Are you sure that finasteride will give you gyno? I was concerned about it at first too, but I've been on finasteride for over a year now without any noticeable breast enlargement.

After a couple of uses he felt a peculiar giggle(paraphrasing) in one of his breasts. He also mentioned feeling something weird when cupping his breasts. He noticed this while on a photo shoot...

I would rather have breasts than be bald but you can get surgery to remove them or use a aromatase inhibitor to prevent it while taking finasteride.

You have no idea about how it's like to go through gyno.

If you knew, you'd know that even a few months with gyno is a nightmare, and is actually worse than hair loss.

If you pick the wrong surgeon (just like with hair loss), you're gonna have hollow pecs instead of boobs.

And on the list of aromatase inhibitors: hair loss.

I'm actually interested what is it like? I have had a small lump underneath my right nipple for the past week and it's very sore when i press on it could this be gyno? i do have some gyno naturally which is why i think i am very susceptible to it.

I am sure, I have developed a small lump from like 6 doses of finasteride

I seeeriously doubt it's possible to develop gyno after only 6 doses of finasteride... In my opinion you should give finasteride another try, who knows, you might not develop gyno at all.

Most likely just have a tiny fat chest. Glandular tissue surrounding nipple had a rubbery firm feel and the nipple themselves r typically sensitive. A lump will be apparent under neath.

If u have it ud know. Very sensitive, itchy and when under right lighting it has a different pigment to surrounding chest area
Literally looks like a rubber surrounding the nipple
