Eliminating the inferior gene pool. Only procreation with strong superior non balding genes.

What purpose does baldness serve other than completely ruining someone's life and ability to enjoy it..

"Eugenics is the set of beliefs and practices which aims at improving the genetic quality of the human population"

Basically that short and bald men should be sterilized from reproducing.

This is ridiculous. Gandhi. That's all I have to say. Rapists and people that make a living off of manipulating and hurting other people should be sterilized. Horrible, evil people should be sterilized. Not bald or short men. Evolution in humans is no longer determined by these physical "weaknesses", it's determined by intelligence, resources and work ethic. Hopefully, one day, it will be determined by intelligence and morality.

And, what the f*ck is with all this bald shaming on a forum where every one is GOING BALD. We don't have to be happy. We have to be strong. We don't have to like, or even accept this curse, but we have to support each other. If there is ONE thing that we need to reassure each other of, it's the exact opposite of what your post intends - we are NO LESS of human beings than people with hair. We may feel we are. We may be treated like we are. but we are not.

The idea of eugenics is just an extended version of a process that is already naturally happening since the dawn of time.

Selecting for people who are attractive with no obvious physical flaws, avoiding those who are deformed and deficient.
Eugenics just broadens the criteria to include intelligence and more specific physical characteristics.

Well ever since I started losing my hair, I've vowed that I'd never pass this inferior and life-changing genetic trait on to anyone else. Years later, I still haven't changed my stance on that.

I understand that.. but by the time your child reaches 20 years old, he will definitely have the ability to keep his hair. It will be 2036 (Jesus that sounds weird). I mean, aren't you excited for the the treatments that will be here in less than 5 years?

No guarantee that they will be available. For decades a 'cure' has been coming.

Even if treatable, you're still knowingly passing on a disfiguring genetic disease. I'd rather male pattern baldness be removed from the gene pool or at least not contribute to it

I agree, to some extent.. but I also think there are too many variables. Either way, I am going to be adopting in the next couple of years, with or without a woman. I do love kids, but it's not even entirely because I want to. I feel I would be a very good father and because of this, it's my obligation. I will try to draw a pin of blood from the putative candidates and sequence it. I will try to pick that will not be prone to Androgenetic Alopecia. haha :p

5 years away right? lol

Always 5 years away.

I personally am a fan of eugenics to a degree. I do believe certain people should be sterilized. I think in todays age you should need a permit to breed. We are destroying the planet, eradicating species and only the extremely dumb are reproducing, and at rapid rates. Why is it the intelligent people have 1 or 2 children yet low income uneducated people have 4 or 5?
I think if you are on welfare for one child you should be snipped. We should really be touting the positives of being "fixed" with some public campaigns.
I think people with "less desirable" traits should REALLY think hard about having kids. People have kids because they think a family is the next step or some way to constantly be social. You dont need to worry about friends or connections anymore because you have this group of people who are stuck with you. I think its a sense of fear and low self confidence thats make a lot of people have kids when they shouldnt. Im sorry but if you are a person with awful genetics, if you are people with health problems, if you are just dumb and lazy, you SHOULD NOT be breeding. If you are 5-2, frumpy and balding and awkward and this caused you to be bullied and hate life growing up, do you think things will be different for your kids?

Just my opinion though.

Not that I should really need to say it (because it's so obvious), but if this were what had happened until now then a lot of good and some great, world changing people would never have been born.

I think that if there ever was some sort of "breeding criteria" implemented it shouldn't be concerned too much with physical traits. How many world changing scientists, politicians, engineers, etc have you seen that have looked like brad pitt? I have met a LOT of awkward looking people, with genetics deemed to be "undesirable" by society that somehow, someway are still happy. I don't understand how they do it, but they manage. They are happier than 90% of the better looking people on this forum. The orthopedic surgeon that basically saved my knee because he was a genius? 5'4", odd looking and yet a complete bad *** that I hope has children.

Different weaknesses in this world create different strengths. This world would be no where without unusual genetic complementation. imo at least.

That being said, I totally agree with 90% of your post. If you are a dead beat pos - they should chop off your f*cking balls or cut out your ovaries. If you are a convicted serial rapist? they should torture you, then cut off your balls, then bury you with no casket deep below the frost line. ;)

If anything, I see a lot of members on this forum that would be AMAZING parents, including Fred. Yeah, he's a little wacky, but we all are on here. He also has a mushy little heart. @FredTheBelgian - A MOOSHY WOOSHY HEART!! :p Sensitive, thoughtful people make good fathers. Most of us on here, are on here, because we are sensitive people. No beating around the bush. If we were all complete dousch bags that didn't give a f*ck about anything, we wouldn't be helping each other and having constructive debates, etc... Hell, we probably wouldn't care this much about hair loss. We have seen a few legit sociopaths on here (no offense, Alexbrah, if you are still on here under another alias) and they don't last long.

Here's the (brutal) thing about genetics...

It'd be one thing if you could say, "Alright, I got sh*t genes, it's time to stop feeling sorry for myself and get to work fixing this sh*t."

In other words, if you could use your determination and hatred for whatever condition(s) you were dealt to motivate you to fix things.

But, obviously, you can't. There's little to nothing you can do to significantly alter the hand you were dealt at birth. Brutal.

Take, for instance, the 5'-2" guy. Unless that poor mofo has a lifelong dream of becoming a ******* jockey or something, he really got screwed genetically. And there's absolutely nothing he can do to increase his height. He'll always be known as the short dude. ******* brutal.

Or how 'bout the poor grunt who's hung like a raisin. Again, nothing he can do to significantly increase the size of his manhood. Think of the humiliation that dude might have to endure if he tries to play the game. Brutal.

And, of course, there are many more examples of the BRUTAL cruelness of genetics...

I don't understand people who argue against genetic engineering.

They talk about genetic engineering having moral and ethical qualms and being a bad thing for the human race, and it's usually the people who don't have any issue with theirs.

We are 100% certain going to be engineering people against severe debilitating genetic diseases, as well as genes that carry a high risk of developing things like diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and such. Not doing so would be a disservice to humanity if we can utilize the technology to make people's lives better.

Well I ask, why stop there? If we will be able to do those things, we might as well stop anyone from being short, bald, ugly, smalldicked. Why would those things get a free pass? It doesn't make any sense.

I like the idea of adoption. I've thought about it for myself in the future, rather than having biological children. There are so many children out there without stable family or home environments. In a way it almost seems selfish to me to create a person when there's already an underprivileged person out there I could reach out to love and provide for.

In GENETICS,their is one Hardy Weinberg law,

The HardyWeinberg law, states that allele and genotype frequencies in a population will remain constant from generation to generation in the absence of other evolutionary influences or mutations.
