"As stated before my kids were facing incredible situations. We played badminton and the hanging man together and they went CRAZY. What I mean here, is that they only need minimum things to “escape”. We have access to so so much sports, hobbies, culture, and knowledge. Please instead of locking yourself inside, try to learn something new and keep yourself fulfilled. Life goes on and it’s short so we HAVE TO get ours back before it’s definitely screwed."

<3 thanks for sharing

You will lose many precious things.., but you must never lose your priceless humanity.

You have a great ear for music. I've always enjoyed what I'll describe as the Island Soul sound.

While Paolo sings "Hold on", I'll wail " Oh woman, let go of ya sorrow".

I guess we just have to make the best of things in this horrible world. So much injustice.

Life could have been so good but we just made a mess of it.

Indeed. I don't know why we have this certain ability to screw up things when we are so lucky to be alive and have a perfect environment to live in. I just don't know. But oh well, what can we do.

too long to read but you still had time to give me a negative reputation comment. Because **** logic.

When you are in the last day of life....

You will want to live another day..not hairs...
So remove that need..
And improvise yourself..
Stop hesitating..

This is awesome. I always talk about this with my worker. He is very religious and always sites passages from the bible. When you know it's your last day here, what thoughts will be going through your mind? I promise, it won't be money. It won't be sex. It won't be a single thing about your physical life, because your physical life will not exist when you die. You will think thoughts about that handful of people you have truly loved while you are here.

Speak for yourself. If I were to get news that I only have a couple of days left to live, I'd make plans to visit prostitutes to get some sex. And see the BvS and Deadpool movies.
I don't have "loved ones" in my life. Actually my mom is the only person in this world I have felt attachment to.
It's been a lonely existence.

I don't understand how the fact that there are poor people out there should have some positive effect on how you see things. If anything, it makes me even more depressed to see others suffering. And I also born into communist poverty, when I was a child I lived in a village, no running water, no electricity, nothing. Going outside to the "toilet" in -30 C weather is not fun.

So what? Not everyone is born in a rich developed world but what does this have to do with hair loss?

Good points made. We are human and we can only play the cards we are dealt.
I'm sure when most of us westerners are on on the subway every morning, those around us are not thinking of the less fortunate in other countries.
No, every one is too busy with their own crap.
Like gossiping about who is going bald and who has really "let themselves go."

For better or worse, this is our reality. And we have to live in this shallow sh1thole.

Blessed, yet cursed at the same time.

Parisienne,
Thanks for sharing the Paolo Nutini (whose father has Tuscan origin. I am from Tuscany!) song.

I agree that we "Westerners" (although I consider myself more of a "Southerner", at least in Europe), have f***ed up values.

Nonetheless, I am going to tell you a different story, told me a couple of months ago by the guitarist of a band I play with (I play drums).

During rehearsals, we were discussing hair styles of musicians. The guitarist told this story: "I am from Ukraine. My stepfather (I have never known my father, who escaped when he knew my mother was pregnant) was a dissident during Soviet years. He was jailed for years for political reasons. He was put in front of the execution squad twice (it was a scaring technique in Eastern Europe). He never gave up the names of the other dissident intellectuals.
When he got out of jail (thanks to the "glasnost"), he was homeless for a whole year before finding a job.
Then he knew my mother and his life started to go better.
After these terrible years, in which he never knew if he would survive one more day, he started losing his hair. He was bald in a couple of years.
So, this man, who had suffered anything, who had been so strong as to survive the Soviet jails, immediately gets himself... a GIANT HAIRPIECE, basically a wig. And there was no way to convince him it was unnecessary. He simply couldn't look at himself in the mirror without hair."

Losing your hair (at least for me) is not about how good you're doing in life, or what your values are. It's about how you perceive yourself. You cannot rationalize. If you don't like yourself, and how other people perceive you, thinking of more unfortunate people won't help. If it helps you, good for you: you sound like a thoughtful, sensitive person and you deserve it.

Hello parisienne, I'm a young woman (23) dealing with Androgenetic Alopecia as well. I've been living this nightmare for over 3 years now, so I know exactly how you feel. But I also recognize the fact that there ARE worse things in this life than hair loss (I didn't before - I used to think it was the worst thing that could ever happen to a person). I'm not saying we're not suffering, because we ARE. Hair loss is completely devastating, and I've felt suicidal over it one too many times. I do think surviving hair loss without killing yourself makes you a true hero. And I always say - if you can survive hair loss, you can survive most things. But yeah, there are worse things than even hair loss. Seeing other people's suffering really puts things in perspective.

Why don't you take finasteride? If it's Androgenetic Alopecia, baldness caused by male sex hormones like testosterone and DHT attacking the hair, couldn't you just reduce your testosterone with propecia/finasteride as you're a woman?

I took finasteride and it did absolutely nothing for my hair. Besides, women are adviced to stay away from finasteride, especially if they want to have kids. But by all means, it could work for her. Just because it didn't work for me, doesn't mean it won't work for someone else.

Do you have normal hormone levels? I'm just curious. It must work differently in women. Surely if you reduce your androgens it would at least slow hairloss down though if it's Androgenetic Alopecia? Maybe more estrogen instead of less androgens?

Yes, my hormone levels are normal. Except my DHT levels, which I found out (by blood test) was higher than normal. This was no surprise to me. And I thought that by going on finasteride I could surely correct this imbalance. But like I said, finasteride did nothing for me unfortunately. I simply do not know why... I did also go on a high estrogen birth control pill but this did nothing for me either. I don't know why nothing has worked for me but I think it may be because my Androgenetic Alopecia gene is simply too strong for treatments to work. It could work for parisienne if she has a slower balding process.

Man...you are only responsible for this..

If your mother is the one you only love..
I bet you should sacrifice every single moment to make her happy..
One loving mom is better than. Every single thing..

I do not have many friends...
I can enjoy many materialistic dreams one can imagine..
I can visit every destination on this planet....
But that happiness being with family...
Having to rest when all family is with you is best thing you can ever enjoy...

Now...I don't want to sad you giving situations where you will not even think of prostituites...
Like if you face accident...
You will want you family to be with you...

Start loving...

I assume you've tried minoxidl to no effect too? I wonder if the female balding process is completely misunderstood then? If androgens were the problem then lowering them should cure it.

Yes, I used minoxidil for two years without results. It's been many months now since I quit treatments altogether because it was expensive while giving no results. So now my hair is in the hands of the "hair-God", truly. I hope he has mercy on my soul, but I doubt it!

As a man I need my male sex hormones, surely as a woman you could safely reduce them down to normal female levels without serious side effects?

And PM me your blog, your writing style is good and you are one of the very few people that is truly non-materialistic and altruistic like myself. I disagree with some of your points but I don't want to put any of my negativity into your head. Especially as I might be wrong.

Hi cocohot don't worry I'm taking care of this aspect ! Thanks for your respect. I'm sending you a PM.

Nothing. But seeing different things make you reflect about your perception of reality. If you think I'm happy with both situations please read again.
