They are all mistaken. Minds incapable of thought experiments. If women preferred NW7, men would prefer to be NW7 (except for some bizarre outliers).

i think the thought experiment here functions to answer the question “do you care more about attracting others than about your own self-image”. my answer would be no. i like my hair long. the look that suits me best was like what Nadal had as a younger man (early diffuse thinning took that away from me).

in a world where women find baldness attractive (OP mentions nothing about whether baldness or not baldness remains objectively ugly), i simply cannot say that i would willingly disfigure myself to please the opposite sex. you see yourself in the mirror every day. you want to experience the nightmare of seeing a monster in the mirror every day in exchange for the cheap thrill of having sex once in a while?

That raises a secondary interesting point. I specifically didn't mention whether anything else would change in terms of how baldness is viewed because:

- If 50% of the population (women) who are the gatekeepers of sex were to find baldness attractive, and...
- Most of what men do in terms of our clothing and appearance is not to impress other men, but rather to be more to be attractive to women, then...
- What would become men's opinion of balding?

I am not sure that men objectively care very much about their appearance beyond how it affects us in a utilitarian sense. That is the case for me at least. If I grew up in a world where bald men were worshiped by women, I'm pretty sure I would come to see baldness as "attractive" and envy men who had it.

Maybe what other people say is true also though - maybe baldness would still be "traumatic" for some men even if it made them sexier to women and the envy of other men.

The whole point is that your mind would not correlate baldness with ugliness if you had been socialized to believe that baldness is attractive.

Exactly. And since women decide what is attractive on a man, I believe our own tastes would be almost completely malleable to adjust.
Precisely.

Its just very hard to fathom because baldness is up there with obesity and acne in the ugly hierarchy.

Basically girls like to pretend that they are attracted to a guys personality, sense of humour, intelligence ect because they don't want to appear shallow but the truth is they are just as shallow as men really. Men go for good looking girls, slim figures with curves in the right places and women go for tall, good looking guys with muscles.
