Sweet.
Good luck Stampede.

Where did you get your dutasteride from?

And what is your facial skin like? Is it oily at all?

I get generic Dutas from United Pharmacies.

My skin has actually IMPROVED since I started dutas... :) it used to be oily and is now actually a bit on the dry side...

How much are you ordering at a time? You would have to order a fair bit at a time just to last you 1-2 months even. If customs stops any deliveries it will be a b**ch... Good luck with that...although I havent had any probs with customs thus far.[/quote]

How much dutas were you taking when you noticed this change in your skin?

And how long were you taking dutasteride before you noticed your skin improving?

thanks stampede

I live in the UK, it's perfectly legal to import this stuff for personal use here. I import 400 at a time, that's as many as they'll sell me.

I used 0.5mg for about a week before I noticed that my skin was better. Was on finasteride before that for about 4 months with no changes to my skin.

I also get less sides now (!) than when I was on finasteride, the tiredness I got is now gone.

I think finasteride has other effects than just messing with 5ar.

I hope so :)

I don't think it's all that risky really. I mean, the people who took 2.5mg in the trial didn't die or anything. At least, I think they didn't? :freaked:

If I start getting gyno etc. I've got enough Arimidex here to last me a while. Now this, gents, is a SERIOUSLY impressive AI, and it REALLY works. Yes, it seems expensive, but it is so damn strong that you'll notice results in a couple of days from about 1/10th of a pill.

Good luck to all you Androgenetic Alopecia sufferers :) together we'll crack this :)

Topical spironolactone, I've got some of that but it STINKS!! God damn man, I can't use that at all, it's as antisocial as I can imagine

Timi, why do I "make my body broken"? In trials, people took 2.5mg for months. If it was that dangerous, why did the subjects not suffer some serious adverse effects?

And people wish me good luck because they give due respect to fellow Androgenetic Alopecia sufferers. Maybe you should try that, instead of spreading negativity with every post you make?

It makes my head a bit itchy... thinking of dropping it actually :(

I think there might be something in it which my scalp doesn't really like. Which is a shame considering how much it cost me.

BTW, what I intend to do with the dutasteride is take 2.5mg for 6 months, then lower the dose to 0.5mg. That way, there will be a serious amount of dutasteride in my body to get hair growing. 0.5mg ED should then be enough to maintain what I've got.

stampede,if say in 12 months i feel that i have gone as for as i can with 0.5 avodart,i will defintley take the plunge to 2.5 mg every day,i myself think that you could do this dose for the rest of your life with no ill effects to your health, don't listen to people who tell you not to do it,do want your heart tells you.
i hope you grow a ton of hair

Thanks, Antonio :)

Timi, I started dutasteride three weeks ago, when my finasteride ran out. Thought I would shift things up a notch.

2.5mg dutasteride plus Nizoral can't be that far off castration levels of androgen binding so far as your hair is concerned... or am I wrong?

I see you're taking the Avodart loading dose approach... wow, respect! :salut: This will be a pretty damn strong regimen - I think 2.5mg/day dutasteride was 36% better than 5mg/day finasteride in terms of regrowth, with something like 18% of subjects getting reduced libido (but interestingly, no-one in the phase II 2.5mg trial group suffering impotence). Dutasteride causes an upregulation of testosterone by about 20%, and even in combination with the nizoral not quite castration effects - for that you'd probably also need the really powerful RU topical that you have to buy from China and mix up yourself - beyond me, personally.

But even without that this is one hell of regimen, and I wish you the very best of luck with it. I'll be interested to hear your progress.

Cheers Pondle :)

I can't really be bothered with mixing stuff up myself. I'm not really much of a chemist, that stuff is expensive and I'll just end up ruining it by mixing it up wrong. I'll just put my trust in UP Dutas and hope for the best 8)

Will definitely post progress pics. My friend is actually doing a bit of a hair diary for me on his camera phone so will have to get the pics off him. I have made fair progress already on finasteride/minoxidil/nizoral/tricomin, but I'm greedy, what can I say?

I also have come to realise just how much hair I've lost. I'm an NW3.5 going on 4, and am thinning all over. I could easily be NW7 in a couple of years. So this is the kitchen sink approach, and I'll give it a year or so to show some results. Otherwise, I'll just shave it all off, I don't look great with a bald head, but it will be that or a horseshoe otherwise.

I've also decided against anything really stupid, like oral minoxidil/spironolactone/cyclosporin etc., I'm not desperate enough for that.
