I think I know now why UP have no Dr Reddys Duta's...you cleared them out of stock.

I just ordered some from IH.

Wanna sell some?..you must get a great price buying that quantity and i'm running really low now to wait 2-3wks.

My scalp is dryer as its normally greasy very quick .. hair has thinned all over and is drier as is scalp...no sign of regrowth as of yet or loss slowdown but still early days .

The amount you are taking is heavy ..the amount of DHT reduction get way smaller after 0.5mg and there is still the question over type II it reduces. Just take care and make sure you don't get any wierd sides..that's a big dose and would worry about your health long term. on continual high dose

I get generic Dutas from United Pharmacies.

My skin has actually IMPROVED since I started dutas... :) it used to be oily and is now actually a bit on the dry side...

Impressive. Oil is controlled by 5ar1, which takes higher dutasteride doses to inhibit.

And people wish me good luck because they give due respect to fellow Androgenetic Alopecia sufferers. Maybe you should try that, instead of spreading negativity with every post you make?

I respect guinea pigs. They benefit us all. And I don't think it is too dangerous. If you did not get sexual side effects from finasteride, you should be safe with the dutasteride. But you will not be able to get it out of your system fast.

2.5mg dutasteride plus Nizoral can't be that far off castration levels of androgen binding so far as your hair is concerned... or am I wrong?

maybe use Eucapil? Or GTE in one of your nizoral off day shampoos?

Cheers Pondle :)

I can't really be bothered with mixing stuff up myself. I'm not really much of a chemist, that stuff is expensive and I'll just end up ruining it by mixing it up wrong. I'll just put my trust in UP Dutas and hope for the best 8)

Will definitely post progress pics. My friend is actually doing a bit of a hair diary for me on his camera phone so will have to get the pics off him. I have made fair progress already on finasteride/minoxidil/nizoral/tricomin, but I'm greedy, what can I say?

I also have come to realise just how much hair I've lost. I'm an NW3.5 going on 4, and am thinning all over. I could easily be NW7 in a couple of years. So this is the kitchen sink approach, and I'll give it a year or so to show some results. Otherwise, I'll just shave it all off, I don't look great with a bald head, but it will be that or a horseshoe otherwise.

I've also decided against anything really stupid, like oral minoxidil/spironolactone/cyclosporin etc., I'm not desperate enough for that.

cool. you are using other stuff. I still wish you'd use eucapil on one side of your head. Just for the 6 months.

Timi, you write beautiful haikus.

Stampede, I just came across this thread. Best of luck to you, brother. If I could afford 2.5mg, I would certainly be doing it. You'll be fine. Just make sure you baby your scalp-- keep it clean, and prevent irritation.

Hi again chaps :)

Nick - I'd rather not sell prescription meds myself, it's illegal and I'm on my very last chance to be a good boy already, if you get me  sorry mate, got too much to lose to start doing that :(

CCS, why would I put Eucapil on one side of my head only? :? besides, I think I would stuggle to fit any more topicals in.

Timi - re your PM and what you've written here, I'm sorry that dutasteride did not work for you. But I'm going to take the risk.

Aplunk - cheers buddy :) I am making sure my scalp is clean and well stimulated with a brush, morning and night before topical application.

Timi, for the 1000th time we know you don't like dutasteride. You don't need to say it 3x in the same thread. Let's just hope Stampede reports back to us and does not get so happy he leaves the boards before telling.

Sides so far are:

Zero libido (but I had that on 1.25mg finasteride as well, so no change).
Upset stomach (from the glycol in the capsules, maybe?).

On the positive side, the tiredness I had from finasteride seems to have gone. No shedding, not that I'd notice anyway given that my hair is so short.

Thanks for the well wishes man, wish you all the best too :)

I've also thought of this, but I would be worried about gyno. In the clinical trials for hair loss it was almost 2% after two years. I can live with getting leukemia or something, but moobs, never. : ) I wonder if the FDA is ever going to come up with a drug that only binds to DHT in the hair follicles, or some topical equivalent. Lord knows the pharmaceutical companies must be pouring money into trying to find a cure-- it would be a gold mine.

That's why I've got Anastrozole on hand

As for binding onto only the follicles, there is a topical that's in the experimental stage, RU something-or-other. Very expensive though.
