BDD stands for Body Dysmorphic Disorder is where you dwell on your imperfections and seek every possible avenue to conceal them. It can be your hair, your face, your nose, your body, etc. Michael Jackson would be a prime example. He does not like his nose so he had numerous plastic surgeries and still he does not like it. Another example, is a person becomes obsessive with their body to look perfect like a fitness model or a professional body builder and his whole life is centered on his body and no matter what people tell him, he still wants to perfect his body even more. In most of the cases on this forum, its the hair. People are obsessed with the fact that they are losing their hair and they will try every possible treatment and concealer to hide their loss. Some people have it so bad they will not go out in public or avoid even going to work because they feel their problem is the "end of the world". Because of how superficial our society is today, we are seeing more people showing signs of it. Plastic surgeon's offices are full of people with BDD. BDD is not anything bad unless you let it control your life and it avoids you from living life to its fullest. People with BDD basically want to look like the perfect Hollywood model or actor. I am sure if you had the chance to wake up looking like Brad Pitt or a fitness cover model everyday, you would never pass up the offer. Some people use plastic surgery as their tool to do this, yet one surgery is never enough for them.
