Is Hair More Important Than Ever In 2017?

Op has a masculine face and can pull of the buzzed/bald look. However, he still won't be the best version of himself and would look better with a full head of hair. The lack of this has numerous consequences which we all know. It's sad and annoying.
It is odd how much hair means to us, isn't it?

It becomes part of our identity and to know that you are losing it can be quite disconcerting.

Just last night I 'beat' a full head Israeli guy who was far better looking than me and got the girl he was trying to compete with me for. He was trying to impress her with his travel stories but the fact that I was more calm and had a masculine 'frame' won her over.

Good for you.
However, you are basically stating that whatever effort the Israeli guy put into showing his personality and experience to this girl (is that "confidence"?), the girl chose you, based on her gut-level preference, as it should be.
You happened to meet a girl who is into bald guys. They exist.

This. I've never really been one for 'looks maxing'; I take care of myself, workout, dress well etc. but that's about the extent of it. I tried finasteride but got sides and had to drop it. Haven't touched anything since and besides, my hair is too far gone now for treatments to have much of an effect. I had no idea the amount of sh*t most other people are putting themselves through though. Popping beta caranole or whatever that stuff is just to get a slightly darker skin tone, finasteride age 16 as a preventative measure (before male pattern baldness has even started happening) - seriously, there's multiple people on these forums who aren't even necessarily balding (Dave Smith for example); they're heffing these powerful anti-androgens as a precaution, a f*****g PRECAUTION. Dudes wearing eyeliner and mascara even, coloured contact lenses, all kinds of crazy sh*t. Sluthate-style looks maxing is literally the norm these days. 2K17 innit: if you don't look good, you're not worth sh*t.

As I wrote in another thread, you millenials are also the first generation whose young males have many real "hairstyles".

When I was at university you had three styles: side part, combed to the back, long.

Now you have
- undercut
- Mohawk
- faux hawk
- pompadour
- comb over
- man bun
...
For a balding young man these are harder times.

Like I said before - hair loss bothers me.

I like to look good and I don't want to look less than good. Its really that simple.

Pretty sure most people are in here for a similar reason - they don't like hair loss.
You know some people's looks are ruined by baldness like Prince William, yet you act as if it isn't a life ruining event for some people, why?

Well his life isn't ruined - he's still going to be king :)

And if he wasn't a royal it wouldn't have ruined his life?

He's depressed by baldness, he wouldn't comb his hair over if his baldness didn't make him unhappy.

If I were him, I'd give my kingdom for a full head of hair.

Seriously though, I'd give all my possessions to gain back a full head of hair, all of it.

Only people who have been bald can understand this I guess.

In all seriousness, what could be worse than being bald? I doubt a paraplegic feels any worse inside than I do.

A young man needs his hair. It is essential. For everything.

Anyone ever put a hat on and marvel at how they instantly transform into a normal looking young person?

Absolutely disgusting disfigurement. It's actually a deformity.

What do you make of men who are bald by choice?

I rarely see a white northern european who isn't trying to look like a terrifying skinhead shave his head with a razor, do you?

I'm an NW5, I would have preferred a terminal illness than to have had to watch myself go bald.

I read an article about women with breast cancer who get wigs a week ago, they all said they didn't really care about their mastectomies because they could just stuff their bras and look normal, losing their hair plunged them into depression though.

No one is bald by choice.
Sure - its called BBC 'Bald By Choice'. Its a bunch of men who razor their hair off because they think it looks bad ***.

I even saw someone write that they wish they were genetically bald rather than shaved bald as it would save them a job!

(obviously this isn't what I think)

Are these a handful of weirdos on the internet or people you've actually encountered in real life?

just lol

google severe burn victims

see if your NW5 is the worst thing possibly imaginable

Ok, you win. That is worse. A million times worse.

I still think baldness is worse than a terminal illness or disability though.

Weirdos on the internet.

But have none of you met full heads who shave their hair off despite being a nw1?

I don't think I have. Maybe you have? It's completely different shaving your head when you're an NW1, it's effectively just a short haircut because everyone can see you have a full head of hair.
