Is this balding at the crown . Please advise...

No the only oral med I’m willing to take is finasteride.

I’ll be honest with the way I style my hair the thinning I’m told by those around me (unless they are lying to be kind of course ) cannot be see any signs of balding . However I know it’s thinning as you can see from my pics . Therefore it won’t be the end of the world if I don’t regrow but I def want to maintain .

Hope going from 0.5mg to 1mg a day if propecia works !

Then finasteride is that way to go. I take 5mg and have since the late 90's. I take .5mg dutasteride since mid-2015 but there are limits to what they can do in terms of regrowth. Topical min works much better if you drink it but you can get a Loniten prescription and it works the same/slightly better depending upon dosage.

You should look at the Bridge hormonal site and his pics. He used to think that combing it forward made his baldness not detectable when he was clearly losing hair on top everywhere. Not saying you are; just an example of the limits of combing and we can all vouch for that. The wind will soon become your mortal enemy without halting hair loss progression. I used to take a comb everywhere because I always looked disheveled which in many ways is worst than skin showing because you always look unkempt.

It might and if you can stand it, you can inch up in titration as you pinpoint the best dosage for you.

Just took these now under living room lighting so not as harsh as the bathroom light / elevator lighting of some of the others .

I am quite happy to maintain this fingers crossed if the 1mg works - if I continue to lose I’ll have to rethink or just shave and be done with it .

So comparing my pics now to 4 years ago , do you think going to 1mg finasteride a day will halt of possible regrow ?
