Its abit like can you imagine Pamela Anderson if her tits were a seperate man made object and she took them off at night and there was just nothing underneath. Would'nt be such a sex symbol then would she?

Not saying I dont agree with you to a degree but women do also use the ol 'chicken fillets' and control pants for assistance in that area, when they come off im not gonna not turn my nose up at a pumping. Women do some truly bizarre things to make themselves attractive for a male. I know that society looks down on systems, but ultimately I dont care about society. In the 30's German society voted in the nazis. Coldplay are popular. Heat magazine flies off the shelves. Low grade foodstuffs are gobbled up left right and centre at 'favourite chicken' chains across the country. Look around at the average city centre on a friday night, are these people the bastions of social convention? No, they are a bunch of muppets.

Im not even saying i would definately wear a wig, im just saying if I do I wont hide it and I wouldnt let what society things stop me.

Each to their own of course, Im still tempted by a hair transplant this year too.

no saf. i was saying that it's the same principle... once you attached the contact lens it's invisible...once you attached a good hairpiece it's undetectable too...

Its not though, maybe its undetectable to the strangers in the street (thats if you have a good one and make the right choices, which many dont).
But how is it undetectable if you're a bald/balding guy and suddenly everybody who knows you workmates, friends, neighbours, family or just the people who see you out and about suddenly see you with a full head of hair !?!

But would you shag a bald woman?

You say that you're not worried by the muppets of society but in that case why are you bothered by hairloss? The whole hairloss industry is built upon how people feel about how others percieve them.

maybe the guy simply likes hair and doesn't want to be bald?

also you can be bothered how you're treated by society and at the same time disregard people's thoughts and opinions . i don't care what some kunt/jerk thinks as long as they're not bothering me.

That makes no sense.

i contest, you have no idea how it feels to have people KNOW you are wearing a wig.

if a woman knows, you feel like a right arse.

if people know, the whole illusion is broken, it defeats the purpose.

you could go away, get a short hairpiece, say you got a transplant or something, but if you say the word WIG to people it freaks them out, its just too wierd.

so i say just lie to them and say you got a hair transplant.

overall people just sortof forget i think, liek elton john, i mean millions of people remember him balding in his 20s, most people know he is wearing wigs, people really don't care, but it is odd to YOU to be in that situation.

sometimes i go crazy thinking about what im doing.

i go shopping for beans in tesco, thankfully i have a wig on to hide my hairloss, otherwise I'd be fucked.

and then there is like 2 or 3 30 something bald guys in tesco as well, obviously they are not in the know that society is against them because they dont have a teenage hairline, becuase its only socially accepatable the be bald in the oldfolks home or if your black.

but fact is we are fucked if we are bald, we have no choice!

does it not? the point was - im not looking for acceptance and yet i don't want to be victimised. if they're keeping their opinions and judgements to themselves im ok with it.

i'd say most poeple think Elton got hair transplant's instead of wigs.

Don't sweat it man, there are people out there doing worse things. really what options have you got left? maybe the choice of wearing hair is lesser of two evils.

on a side note - has anyone ever found out and confronted you about the wig?

I think a guy that decided to wear a wig doesnt care how society looks at him since he already suffers from it by being bald... so in his mind its all the same only now he might look more attractive to those who dont know he wears.

saf I know that you have thin hair and you're using concelears...I am doing this since 2 years...and in my opinion this procedure is nothting better than a good hairpiece. it is the same thing, I hide the reality. I should shave my head if I wouldn't use this concelears that I am fed up with.the good thing is that with a nice hairpiece you can actually style your hair with products and have almost every style that I want...with concelears I can only use hairspray.
as long as it looks nice wearing in my view is just a great solution. at the end of the day even if there are transplants or wigs or the bald look or micro pigmentation that makes you happy then that's all that matters. I have seen guys wearing hair on different hair forums and they look great...much better than 50% of hair transplant's mostly because a hairpiece can have a good hair density, not just an illusion or some hairs kept longer trying to hide the thinning.

this hair piece looks better than many of hair transplant's i've seen.

^^ with that kind of thing one could lead a double life. you don't want to face your work colleagues with a sudden full head of hair. leave it at home. then on weekends take it out from you closet when you're trying to have one night stands. :punk:

Going sly, growing muscles, and growing a goatee won't attract more women(IF it does,it the wrong types),nor will it shield one from ridicule.

From the comments I've seen in gossip sites, the vast majority of people think it is a great improvement.

Bald guys still can't get used to other baldies using wigs. And I'm amazed considering the acceptance of hair tattoos lately

Well, it will sure beat going sly and being a scrawny f***.

As for Jason Alexander, I'm not sure why he went with the wig tbh. Everyone knows him as a bald guy and now at his age he actually looked pretty cool with some facial hair. It would have made much more sense to go with it when he was younger. In that Seinfeld episode the wig looked like a major improvement to me.

Definately! Im actually on the hunt for one, I think they are damn sexy! Plus it has the bonus of meaning that if she wears a wig then i can wear one if i ever wanted to! only kidding

As for your second question, that is a good point but I genuinely dont think my hairloss is related to me wanting approval from other people, im an honest man, i would admit it if i thought it was. At this stage I still have 90% of my hair, to all intents and purposes im an average slightly receded nearly 30 year old male, its not doing me any cosmetic harm, I have much more immediately apparent flaws that others have unwantendly pointed out to me before that i could address to improve my looks but I dont as they dont bother me in the slightest. Hair loss is unique and I believe it is a becuase I have deep rooted psychological issues with loss in general, I cant let things go!

with all due respect, seb, but i do believe your size shields you to a degree. you'd encounter even more hostility and negativity directed at you if you were small and bald.

Because he needed to be that bald guy for Sienfeld. Then he was just cast as the bald guy for any other work and he was sick of it so he got the wig end of.

He was very diplomatic in how he came out as a wig wearer. And he had professional reasons to deflect the whole vanity issue which is why he is getting such a warm reception for it,( besides it looking very natural).
