I tried meat for the first time (in over a year) yesterday, as a favor to a friend.

Amazing, really. And so filling!

In all seriousness, I got a body high. My depth perception was off, too, as I really did feel high!

Could be. It's Notch Johnson (played by Timothy Stack) from a great TV series called "Son Of The Beach".

Educate me people. I feel like I am out of the circle.

What is the advantage of this low carb diet...or what is the disadvantage of a high/medium carb diet...

The body uses carbohydrates (sugars) as it's primary fuel source.

Once carbohydrates have been used, then fat is used as a main fuel source.

Low carbs = quicker transition into "ketosis", the mode in which fat is the primary source of fuel.

High carbs are good if you run or expend a lot of energy but don't really need to lose much or any fat, as exercise takes care of it.

All stored energy is in the form of fat. Hence, carbs, protein, alcohol, fat, are all stored as lipids (fats). It's important for insulation.

Simple really, but your energy use in a 24 hour period is what matters, make sure whatever you take in, is used properly in your lifestyle.

One major benefit of a low carb diet is it forces you to eat cleaner and stay away from processed food. If you don't figure out some ways to get creative with veggies your variety shrinks.

Broiled salmon steak and mixed green salad for tonight.
