Edema, maybe a bit. Lost a lot of water weight after I stopped it for 3 days and lowered dosage. Able to lose weight now 2.

Heavy eye circles, looks the same compared to before pics.
Maybe a bit darker, but definitely not heavy.

Edema- I brush my teeth
The halitosis does not originate from your oral cavity, it comes from deeper within- in this case, your liver.

So brushing teeth makes no difference. Test by asking a close aquintance to smell your breath(your family member)

And no, oral minoxidil will not regrow hair on slick bald areas. U need to break up all that fat tissue first

I’m 17 and diffusing, so I’m not slick bald anywhere.
Only side that really makes me consider quitting would be edema and water retention. Gonna experiment w dosage till I resolve this.

Simple go and search for old post of hairsite back in 2000 . It was extremly popular oral minoxidil. Many of us try it ( the minoxidil plus spironolactone, both oral , combo ) .
Results :
Not better results than minoxidil topical plus finasteride oral.
Side effects . It is all there.

I have a general minoxidil question. The efficacy graph I'm reading looks something like this.
minoxidil-long-term-01.gif

So given that everyone pretty much ends up in the same place after 2 years, why is minoxidil so popular? Like I get it, you want to have regrowth now, but if we know that eventually all the minoxidil gains will be lost, what's the point of using it at all? It just seems like a messy topical with too much shedding/dependency to only be effective for 108 weeks. I'm still young so I'm trying to play the long term maintenance game and would like to know everyone's thoughts on this. I'm assuming that oral minoxidil would follow roughly the same efficacy.

Don't you know what that vertical line means after 2 years? They quit Minoxidil.

I asked my GP about oral minoxidil. He said no. Is there another way I can get it? Without buying it from a dodgy website.

Because one thing is minoxidil in graph and other thing is in real life. I use it none stop since 1998 .

No serrious doctor will prescribe you oral minoxidil, is is an real old drug, already tested oral more than 35 years ago. That new stupid paper is simple overrated .

I started with .25mg years ago because I was so freaked out about sides. Had no impact, no sides after 3 months.

Upped to 2.5mg, no impact or sides after 3 months.

Upped to 5mg, very slight bump in hair, but not cosmetically significant, no sides after 6 months.

Upped to 10mg, slight bump in hair, but again, not cosmetically significant, still relying on concealers. No sides after 10 months.

I'm considering bumping to 10mg twice daily for 20mg / day, but honestly at this point I'm going to have a hard time telling if it is helping more than 10mg once a day. I'm on a heavy supplement regimen and microneedling and seeing more sucess in my first 3 months than anything I've tried in the past over a longer duration.

When I say no sides I mean outside of the expected. My blood pressure went from 145-160/100 with a 65-80 heart rate to 130-140/80 with a 80-95 heart rate. It didn't start to impact my heart rate and blood pressure until I upped to 10mg. I'm only considering 20mg because I'm still at pre-hypertension levels. My only concern is my heart rate raising more.

I upped because I was prescribed a blood pressure medication for my stage 2 hypertension and figured I'd rather just up my dosage from the stuff I'm getting from India rather than taking my prescribed medication since my prescribed medication wasn't going to help with my hair.

I'm also a diffuse thinner with a really good hair line and look very close to Norwood 0 with blow drying (on low and cold shot), dermmatch, and a few shakes of caboki. I've had a guy with diffuse thinning only a little worse than mine mention his hair issues and I said "I feel your pain" and he gave me the "go f*** yourself" look. If you are a diffuse thinner get some dermmatch and caboki, it is possible to live a life without being self conscious. The way I apply I can comb my hair or run my hands through my hair without issues. Been at a concert with an unexpected downpour, no issues (dermmatch looks iffy after it redries, but fine while still wet)

If you go with oral minoxidil don't be stupid, MONITOR YOUR HEART RATE AND BLOOD PRESSURE.

questions about concealers, why do you use dermmatch if you use caboki? and how do you use both of them together?

also, not sure if you're physically active or not but don't they start smear down your head if you start sweating from working out or weather?
same about going into the water, doesn't it come off fairly quickly?

So my regime is this:
Day 1: Shampoo and condition, I use head and shoulders shampoo and a thickening conditioner
When I get out I quickly blowdry my hair and then apply dermmatch .
90% of the time I stop here.
The other 10% I have to apply some caboki to my crown in case I styled wrong and you can see too much scalp.
Day 2: Shower but don't wash hair. I use a hand mirror when washing my face to try to keep my hair dry. Dermmatch can get wet, but it is kinda shiny after it dries.
When I get out I comb my hair.
75% of the time I stop there
The other 25% I have to add some caboki to make it look good again, literally just a few shakes.
Day 3: Same shower as day 2
50% of the time stop here, other 50% I add fibers
Day 4: Usually wash hair unless I don't have time.
If I don't wash my hair I'll definitely need to top off with fibers.

A bottle of caboki lasts me a year.. I really don't need to apply much at all with fibers. I use so little that it never runs down my face and even if it rains I'm actually good because dermmatch looks good wet no mattter what day I'm on... just looks shiny when it dries, which can be hidden with fibers.

With fibers alone I can't swim or get caught on rain, but just sweating has never been an issue.

With dermmatch alone I can swim, go in rain, and sweat without issues.

When mixing both I am careful swimming, because I'll look dirty when my hair initially gets wet and the fibers wash out, but hair still looks full from dermmatch.
When mixing both I can get caught in rain, but always mindful of some fibers possibly running down face. If I only apply to crown on day 1 it is never an issue, and a top off with slight shakes day 2 is never an issue.

Day 3 and 4 are the days I worry when mixing because by then I've used enough fibers that it'll go down my face a little, but usually just wipe away and still look good as long as I'm staying wet.

When planning something active like swimming or being in bad weather I try to be on day 1. Same with going on rollercoasters, day 1 or 2. Day 3 and 4 are days I need to be a bit safer.

sounds like a pain in the *** and full of stress life.
why do you not just shampoo your hair and re-apply dermmatch and fibers more often to "reset" the "shelf life" so you don't ever have to go through "day 3 and day 4"?

and why do you have to take special planning with rollercoasters, lol?

also, don't you use hair spray with the fibers? they say it holds them better that way

It isn't really stresssful, my morning hair routine when doing all of it is 20 minutes and under 2 when just adding fibers. I do it this way because it saves money, a dermmatch disc and bottle of caboki lasts about a year. I don't use hairspray because if you don't wash your hair daily the hairspray feels and looks pretty nast by day 3/4. When I only used fibers I usee hairspray on really windy days.

What were his reasons?
He said it wasn't a prescribed treatment for hairloss, so he couldn't prescribe it, especially with the side effects. He said he could refer me to a private dermatologist, but I'd have to pay (£150), and the dermatologist probably wouldn't give me oral minoxidil either.
