I would guess that nobody has more variety and imported beer than an America grocery store. Is the bad American beer myth all due to crap like Budweiser?

America has a HUGE number of micro and macro breweries, many of which put out beer more diverse than our European counterparts. Sure, people knock Budweiser and Coors because they're popular... but they forget the many other delicious varieties we put out. NOT to mention all the homebrewing that goes on in every neighborhood.

Cassin, I bought some PumpkinHead beer. Pretty expensive, however--my deli charged me $9 plus bottle cap recycling fees, plus tax... It's like $11 for a six pack. LoL.

Do you get Stella Artois in America....Or Bitter? it's not the brand name but a type of alcoholic drink you get in old man pubs...

Stella is immensely popular. It's sold in nearly every grocery store in bottle-form. About 50% of bars (in my observation) carry Stella on tap. It's an "alright" beer--definitely overpriced for the taste. Give me a Blue Moon, for half the price.

For the DogFishHead or the Blue Moon?

for DFH that's pretty good but for BM that's pretty high.

Stella.......................wife beater! in the USA?

Is that a good idea if they do not already have it.......................................

Also Bitter is Pale Ale it is just an English term.............and not a name for a drink in it's own right.

Ah, Pale Ale is bitter....An education is taking place here!

I didn't know that because I'm no fan of the taste of bitter/pale ale and don't really drink it.

Stella in America, i'm not surprised...seems the most popular commercial beers are not as nice as the less commercial ones Aplunk.

How about 'Mild'? as in, 'i'll have a pint of Mild please'...it's a black guiness looking like drink that was served next to Bitter in the old man's pub I worked in 10 years ago, and if you mixed the two you'd get a drink called a 'Mickey Mouse' like mixing larger and cider and getting 'Snake bite'
