With a few men making threads showing them growing back all their hair, and supposedly not having any health problems; should I still be intimidated by using oral spironolactone despite their success?? The reason I'm wondering is because proscar 1.25mg is not stopping my hair loss. :shakehead:

I would never advise that anyone take oral spironolactone - it was a personal choice and a last resort for me. It will have an effect on your body, but to me - considering i was 19/20 and balding badly - it was bearable. The worse thing was some gyno which i used SERMs for, but even then you can't just keep taking SERMs as the increase in testosterone caused me to shed. All of that being said, i was on oral spironolactone for about 4/5 years. Then I succesfully switched to RU.

I take it you only used spironolactone for the regrowth and then maintaining it with finasteride and RU? Any significant losses, or have you successfully maintained your regrowth?

I would say that i have maintained since being on RU. But if you check my last pictures with a year or so ago you can judge for yourself.

I'm real jealous man haha I'm too perturbed by spironolactone SE :\ Maybe someday, when my balls drop, I'll consider spironolactone, but finasteride seems to be doing its job rn. Here's to hoping you many years of hair.

hello jgray,
first of all - wow man - this is fukkin amazin !

i've got 2 question as im about to get on spironolactone myself -

* when you began to get gyno and started tamoxifen, ive seen you wrote that you only took it for a couple of months - so you take it for 2-3 months, the gyno goes away, and than you can discontinue it while still on spironolactone and the gyno wont come back ?

* you also said that you took tamoxifen/ralox -- is this a drug combination or just 2 different drugs ? what is the other one for ? why tamoxifen alone wouldnt cut it ?

thanks and keep going !

btw this is what im planning with spironolactone, id love if you could give your opinion

Amazing. Where do you get your RU from and what kind of vehicle do you use? How often do you make batches.

thanks for giving us all hope!

From Anagen. I buy the premixed solutions and store them in the fridge. I used to use 5% solution but now using the 3% with no problems.

Short update.
Still maintaining, I believe my overall thickness has increased since using castor oil/emu oil topical. Also, noticing more dark hairs at the front of hairline since i have started dermarolling and tretinoin on temples.

i read many articles about emu oil and it's antiinflammatory effects and believe that it is working!
also add MSM, omega-3/6, polyvitamins+microelements(copper, zinc, vit C especially), escape smoke/drink.

Another update: Still maintaining with some slow gains over the last few months. Combination of RU/OC seems to work well considering have not lost any ground since dropping oral spironolactone probably two years ago now. I also think the combination of dermarolling and retin-a has helped to darken hairs. Have had no adverse effects from the retin-a but i am using a very low dose.

Will post pictures today or tomorrow.
