Yes Zinc inhibits DHT, honestly nobody can tell me differently, gave me the same sides as Darolutamide when I used 6 Zinc capsules now I use 3 and most of it has gone away

Worm,

Thanks for all your help. I have stopped taking Finasteride because of really bad side effects for me. At this point, I am ready to give zinc a shot. However, in my opinion, genes play a very important role in male pattern alopecia. I assume zinc can help you a lot just because you don't have family history of male pattern alopecia or your genes of it express more mildly than most of other guys.

So, my question is do you have family history of male pattern alopecia and how are they doing. Sorry for my poor English, I am not a native English speaker. Cheers again.

My father was balding in his twenties and was full nw7 his father was bald was well. My uncle on my mom's side was balder still, but my grandfather had some hair. So on the whole, more men were bald than not in my family.

I have no brothers.

Hey worm! Been a week im on your protocol! But i have some question! Do you apply all over the scalp or just the top? And can you measure how much ml you use each time you apply? I cant tell if i apply to much or not enought! I try to put all over since i got retrograde alopecia in same time of over all thinning on top

Hey, I tend to apply strictly to the areas that are balding, so top, crown and hairline ofc. I massage it in to my scalp a 5-10 seconds to get some absorption, and then massage a bit below the areas on the sides and bit of the back. I usually end up applying 3-4 mls to get adequate coverage, but its also cuz my hair is a bit longer,so if yours is shorter maybe you won't need as much. Ultimately my head isn't drenched, but you can notice it's not dry. Hope that helps.

If you looked at my current forum I also started Hydrocortisone 1% shedding has decreased a good amount 3rd day in on Hydrocortisone.

What do you think is the reason for decreased shedding? And how many are you losing now vs before?

@worm

ive seen a few posts from you recently saying how your shedding went up after altering your formula. so you immediately stopped and went back.

but isnt extra shedding a good sign treatments are working? i know your worried that it means something isnt agreeing with you and your hair is starting to fall out again. but always when people ask about shedding on minoxidil and finasteride the advice is that the shedding means the treatments are working and the hair will grow back stronger. it was true in my case

dont you think this could be happening with you? or does this topical work differently? and extra shedding is only a bad sign

I don't think so, I've shed before, and I just like thinner. When I started using zix 13 years ago, I noticed immediately that I was losing much less hair and thereafter things thickened up significantly. Well applying that same logic, I'd say unlike minoxidil a shed is bad news and a return to hairloss.

I didn't take my advice though, I changed two things when I upped my concentration, I also washed my hair less. I really wonder what impact not shampooing may be having on me. I'm losing less than last week, but still shedding a bit more int eh shower. I just hate having such greasy hair, but maybe I just need to accept that I need to wash it daily. Needless to say, I'm on the fence about what caused the extra shed.

Ever tried a sea salt spray? Dries out the hair a little bit and gives you that little bit of extra volume/body. I know a few good ones with no real harmful chemicals if you are interested.

Yeah I use dry shampoo curently and have tried sea salt as well. While my hair looks less thin and better with, I find they leave residue but simultaneously give me some cosmetic thickness. I find the result is thicker looking yet still greasy looking hair.

I'm rather cheap, so my sea salt spray was mixing sea salt which I bought from the pharmacy into a spray bottle. I found that as good as the pre-packaged $4 salt water spray.

Btw I just had a thought about this zinc treatment. Just the cosmetic boost alone and the ease with which you can style your hair is worth the $1-2/month it costs to mix this. It's cheaper than gel or any product.

And it helps prevent hairloss.

Hey! So if I want to try it without the ethyl alcohol first, do I substitute 20ml distilled water instead of the alcohol or do I just not add the alcohol? Also, Do you think people have results without the alcohol as far as you've seen on zix threads?

Just use 60 mls distilled water. Not sure about the effectiveness, except I have scaled back my use of ethyl alcohol from 30% to about 20% concentration without any loss of effectiveness.

@worm How long should I leave the Zinc in for ? My order just came in. I just purchased the alcohol 70% too. But What are your recommended measurements of Zinc capsules, Water & Alcohol. I also plan on using Lipogaine at Night. As belgravia did nothing for me. Also what do you use to measure...and after I mix everything for Zinc formula should I let sit for a day before starting use ?

Hi, I think you're asking how long should you let the solution sit before you use it right? It's good to let it sit for 12 hours, but literally you can start using it right away, I do. Mix 80% distilled, 20% ethyl alcohol and 3 zinc capsules. Apply in the morning. Then apply your minoxidil in the evening.

Hope that answers your questions. Good luck!

Just that alone is worth it, right? Cheapest hair product, let alone thickener, out there. Wishing you good results! Keep us up to date.
