So here's the deal, I'm 29. I've been dealing with hairloss for nearly my entire 20's. It started at a small temple patch and now has progressed to both temples nearly gone as well as thinning in the back. I decided these past couple weeks it's time to jump on the propecia train and give it a whirl. I will note that I've been on rogaine on and off for years now. Any time that I've stuck with it I would have dozens of hairs sprouting up but i would end up getting lazy and stop. This last time I was on for 6 months and I had great results, now after stopping for about 2 months my hair is much worse.
Anyhow, simply put I have prostate problems. I've been too several doctors who say otherwise but the fact is, I have a weak urine stream and my ejacutaion power isn't there like it used to be. I also occasionally get prostate pain. I've had my Psa levels checked a few times all normal, I've had multiple digital rectal exams (not fun) all say my prostate isn't enlarged. It's basically a mix of BPH and prostitus symptoms. I'll also add I was diagnosed with accute bacterial prostitus when I was younger, I belive 19/20. However after antibiotics that went away. I've never had erection problems I'll add, me and my girlfriend have great sex and I perform fine, I can both mastubate and perform sexually multiple times a day if needed.
So my question is this, given the fact everyone says my prostate is fine and there's nothing wrong would it be safe to try propecia? I know finasteride is used to treat BPH so maybe ultimately it will help with my situation but has anyone on the forums had my similar situation? I already have 90 Walmart generic tabs ready to be taken I just wanted some Input from you guys. I'm not really afraid of sides, but I wanted to know if sides are maybe a better chance given my situation.
Sorry for the long post, just wanted to give you guys the whole story! Hope to hear from someone, thanks!
btw I've been a super long lurker, I hope to now add to the hairloss community .I know how it is to live with this problem and it's not fun. You guys just reading some story's both good and bad have been a tremendous help to me.
