I think minoxidil has a shorter half life in the scalp and is more tolerated and more effective at higher doses. 2% nizoral does not give better results than 1%, but can dry the scalp, even when not used daily. I think a high dose topical would not be good. Since nizoral is so good with only twice weekly use, I'd just leave it as a shampoo. Stuff like apple poly and spironolactone, however, are best in high concentration topicals.

What you can get from Nizoral, you can probably get from the shampoo alone.
