Amsch, how am I an idiot? You're the one who thought lasers might save your hair.
As the state of my hair? It's hard to tell right now. After experiencing that shed after having to go off Propecia for 4 days and then back on my hair texture changed and hasn't changed since (waxy/brittle). Right now I have completed month 2 of Prox-N, Dr. Proctor Nano shampoo, and 5% minoxidil. I think it is working as it looks a little thicker although I just got a shorter than usual haircut and applying minoxidil made me look I just have a horseshoe. I don't think I would be a good patient for topical spironolactone as I think I am systematically absorbing the minoxidil as I don't really have any weight gain I have but I have noticed a lot of body/beard hair thickening/darkening, I hope by 3 or 4 months it will look better.
As far as getting off propecia I have noticed some more shedding and my hairloss getting worse (temples and vertexed thinned out more) but I am sure I experienced reflex hyperandrogenicity as the symptoms were something that sounded like a textbook case, I have visited other boards and it sounds like it is not uncommon for it to happen late in the game.
That being said, I didn't answer your questions IP because I was angry at the time and didn't want to talk.
Taking a break from this place made me realize what is important, my schoolwork is far more important at the end of the day than hairloss. Plus like anything, surround yourself with negative people (or the impact of hairloss regulars) and you will feel pretty miserable too.
That being said, I won't to give myself in till the end of the year before deciding going on another anti-androgen whether it be Propecia or a homeade topical of Zinc/B6.
