Your Telogen Effluvium is due STRESSING over whether or not Propecia is making your hair worse and giving you RH. You are also stressing over the fact that you may be a NW6 in your 30's. Every morning I get up and worry if I am going to have a good hair day or not. Not good stressing over this stuff. There is no end to it.

While I appreciate the concern, trust me those last pictures from 7 to 8 where my hair looked good was because of this medicine. While some question me on whether or not I have hairloss, trust me I do as I just have to look at photos from the age of 18 to the summer I started propecia and my hair still looks better than baseline.

I think honestly I will recover more from this shed but time is needed.

I don't know man I think I am still better than baseline but I am just kind of puzzled about what's happened to my hair. It is a lot lighter and thinner.

IMO
i think your hair (through your pics) are not bad

!only you know know the true condition of your hair!

i think through all your "sheds" and possible RH

your hair still looks the same from your pictures

i know lighter and thinner hairs means miniaturization so you may be right

what did the tests turn out about the RH thing?

cheers mate

looking through all your pics, I'd say your hair has stayed the same throughout. Also I say you didn't even have hair loss to begin with, just a maturing hairline.

your only concern right now would be styling your hair..ditch that dorky style and either let it get long or get a shag

ok ... i only got rude when he just ignores my question about him stopping propecia when he told me that i needed to stay on it... after months of irnoring my pms and tread questions I got a little pissed...

anyway thats besides the point... just PLEASE answer my basic question about propecia

The guy isn't a doctor, why does he matter why he got off it?
He had virtually no hairloss and his case isn't similar to yours at all, if he wants to get off propecia and doesn't wanna tell you why that's his choice.

Gotta take a hint man, if he wanted to talk to you about it I'm sure he would have by now.

I would not be surprised if Obsidian finally decided to move on and take a break from this place. I am sure he will be back if he needs some support.

I hope he comes back to give us a update on how he's going after stopping finasteride.

Amsch, how am I an idiot? You're the one who thought lasers might save your hair.

As the state of my hair? It's hard to tell right now. After experiencing that shed after having to go off Propecia for 4 days and then back on my hair texture changed and hasn't changed since (waxy/brittle). Right now I have completed month 2 of Prox-N, Dr. Proctor Nano shampoo, and 5% minoxidil. I think it is working as it looks a little thicker although I just got a shorter than usual haircut and applying minoxidil made me look I just have a horseshoe. I don't think I would be a good patient for topical spironolactone as I think I am systematically absorbing the minoxidil as I don't really have any weight gain I have but I have noticed a lot of body/beard hair thickening/darkening, I hope by 3 or 4 months it will look better.

As far as getting off propecia I have noticed some more shedding and my hairloss getting worse (temples and vertexed thinned out more) but I am sure I experienced reflex hyperandrogenicity as the symptoms were something that sounded like a textbook case, I have visited other boards and it sounds like it is not uncommon for it to happen late in the game.

That being said, I didn't answer your questions IP because I was angry at the time and didn't want to talk.

Taking a break from this place made me realize what is important, my schoolwork is far more important at the end of the day than hairloss. Plus like anything, surround yourself with negative people (or the impact of hairloss regulars) and you will feel pretty miserable too.

That being said, I won't to give myself in till the end of the year before deciding going on another anti-androgen whether it be Propecia or a homeade topical of Zinc/B6.

1. Like said, I experienced R.H. so that makes me question if my body is suitable for Propecia. Your hair is going to get worse on or off Propecia so it is a damned if you do or damned if you don't situation.

2. I took the last pill in early May and I started Rogaine liquid the last week of May (HEB store brand minoxidil) after using the foam for 2 weeks as the liquid for the crappy way it makes your hair look still has a better track record than the foam.

3. I apply it all over the vertex, crown, hairline, and temple points.

4. I really don't know, those newer pictures show your hair looking a little better but that is just me.

hey ... you in austin.tx correct ?

So when you say you got R.H do you mean you got the oily skin and high libido or do you mean your hair loss got a lot worse on propecia ??? As for as hairs sake which one do you think is reacting better to you...on or off propecia

So am I we should meet up !!! You go to UT or ACC ot texas state ?

Yes, the oily skin I noticed right away the libido not so much but the oily skin, acne everywhere, and smelly scalp (maybe just me but I had it) was there. Right now I really do not know I have only been off Propecia two months so there are probably a bunch of receptor sites taking in as much DHT as they can plus I have only been on minoxidil/Copper Peptides for only 2 months so it is kind of early but I think it might be doing something.

I go to St. Edward's University

You can do that Hairdx test to see whether Propecia would work for you but it is only available through certain doctors. :thumbdown2:
