Great! And thank you again for doing this. It really means a lot to a fellow hair loss sufferer.
I got a response from Replicel, they're willing to meet with me on Thursday, but at this same time there is a presentation:
Regeneration of skin appendages: Physiological and wound induced responses Cheng-Ming Chuong, MD, PhD | USA
It lasts until 3:15. I don't want to miss out on the wounding stuff, it could have some beneficial information to us. I may ask to move it 15 minutes later, otherwise, I'll comply. Thoughts? Or should I just go for the Replicel interview?
Wow that's amazing!
I would send a nicely worded email to Replicel, thanking them for their generosity and commitment to this issue, but if it would be possible to move it 15 minutes later. You can tell them how people here have payed for your trip and are expecting you to return here with as much information as possible and therefore don't want to miss the speaker. If Replicel cannot meet at a later time, I personally would rather you meet with Replicel over the presentation but that is obviously a decision not made by myself.
I already mentioned that in my initial email, so no need to restate it, but I did ask them if they could meet up at 3:15, if not, I'd make do with 3:00pm. Tammy George from Replicel is really quick with email responses though, it's pretty amazing, that's a nice plus

CONFIRMED! I'm meeting with Dr. Rolf Hoffmann, Dr. Kevin McElwee and Lee Buckler at the Hair Congress! Dr. Hoffmann and Dr. McElwee are the brains behind Replicel's science! YES! A big thank you goes out to Tammy George if she's reading this!
POST YOUR QUESTIONS FOR REPLICEL!!!!!
Ask Christiano about her new findings and maybe the 3D DP spheres she was using in the mice for human hair. I assume it's a chimera hair overall. How this could have any barings with rapunzel and her other company she is involved with but can't remember the name of the top of my head
Hellouser can you make it a point to ask researchers their thoughts on women's hair loss. No earthly idea what to ask. I hope you don't hear crickets.
Macbeth can you ask those women to give us some questions to ask. No questions about wigs.
My question for Hellouser to ask then is this: Will treatments for men also benefit women diagnosed with Androgenetic Alopecia?
I really wonder why they'd prohibit the use of video recording this year, especially since not only did they allow Desmond to record last year, but they actually welcomed it. Dr. Christiano seems like a very nice person, so this is peculiar to me. I don't know. I'd try to get in touch with some of the other organizers, like Sarah Millar or Gail Naughton.
Hellouser, as I've stated before, I can't think of any scientific questions off of the top of my head right now, but I think I would just reiterate the following message to these scieintists: How thoroughly dissatisfied most of us are with today's limited treatments and how much the vast majority of hair loss sufferers would welcome a new and much more effective treatment. This message really never gets stated because most of the hair restoration community is so fascinated with lauding these hair transplants, despite the fact that they only appeal to like 5% of all hair loss sufferers. Unfortunately most of the hair restoration profession does not represent us with their viewpoints and their treatments, so I guess I would just state to them how badly we need, and how welcoming we would be towards, a new and effective treatment/cure.
I would try getting in touch with other organizers, maybe Dr. Millar or Dr. Naughton, and see if they could perhaps make an exception, especially since Desmond was able to last year. I remember how nice Dr. Beren Atac was, I believe she even stated how helpful having those video recordings even was.
To RepliCel:
- I recall Mr. Hall during his interview with Spencer stating that Phase II would be dosing down. Was this a poor choice of words, or are they using a lower dosage (cells/injection)? My assumption is that the cells are losing their inductive properties, in which case fewer (more potent) may be better.
- In their original study with mice (pg 1269) they found injecting the cell associated with wounding yielded superior results. Have they considered wounding with humans?
- Has Shiseido enhanced or modified the procedure to their knowledge? I believe the use of iPS cells was a mistranslation but otherwise?
- Finally, the obvious, when will trials start already? Any details on the Shiseido trials (sample size, repeat injections, dosage, etc). The Shiseido trials are most important. We in the USA will be ****ed by the FDA, and it will take years to come here.
