If I walk into a room wearing roller blades, women often don't notice them, but they do notice that I'm taller, and the hot ones have given me approving looks in the eye. I got the same reaction standing beind the counter at a convenience store where the floor is raised.

If I wear a baseball cap backwards, hiding my thinning, I get approving looks from attractive women. Same occured when I wore a hair piece, and was actually stopped on the side walk by one to say hello.

I'd say the height and the hair piece piece each were equally effective.
