You went to one doctor that wasn’t as knowledgeable as you wanted and because of that you’ve completely written off all doctors in general? Is that what you’re saying?

HLV

Pretty much. I went to one of the most trusted hair specialists in the country I live in, in which there were multiple 'hair specialists' dictating an opinion. My dermatologist referred me there since she believed they are greatly knowledgable on hair loss due to meetings she attended, but when I reported my experience to her, I doubt she will refer anyone to those hair specialists again.

My dermatologist is extremely knowledgable about hairloss.

So is mine. In fact, I told her I am self-medicating and she doesn't mind because she knows how limited the prescribed hair loss treatments are; she has also offered me blood tests, in which I accepted.

FYI Ikarus, it’s possible to just reply to what I’m saying without pressing “dislike” on everything. I won’t lose sleep over it so maybe give your index finger a rest. You’ll end up with arthritis.

Bica reduces body hair which is a HUGE plus, but does it reduce a lot the body hair? Especially the beard, as it is an important facial feature for me.

Then that contradicts what you’ve been repeatedly stating on this website that all hairloss medical doctors are clueless, right?

I have been stating that hair specialists are clueless, in which they are. Dermatologists aren't hair specialists; my dermatologist is one of the rare great dermatologists, but she is not a hair specialist. In which she knows more about hair loss about hair specialists, which makes hair specialists seem even more useless.

Actually I believe you stated in general that anyone experiencing hairloss should not take medical advice but if you say so.

I still don't believe anyone should take medical advice, since it's irrelevant; medical advice can only go so far. I asked my dermatologist about bicalutamide, and she didn't know it existed. If people want to take the route of using potent anti-androgens, they should do personal research and come to a conclusion themselves.

the genes for facial and male-pattern body hair (HHA6 and HHA7). There's a little palindrome of DNA (AGAACA) called an Androgen Response Element! (ARE.) Each AR has a single arm on it, which latches onto only that palindrome. With both their arms, they clamp down on the ARE and snap tight. The AR's other head is a handle for RNA polymerase, which kicks off making the gene south of the ARE into a protein. The AR flips a switch, the HHA6 and HHA7 keratin is made, and if ur genes said facial hair and body hair, then you will have facial hair and body hair etc.

HHA6 only passes the nucleus once so unless you haven't passed Tanner Stage II of puberty yet, you will still have facial hair. HHA7 continuously passes the nucleus even after Tanner Stage V of puberty so you will lose body hair

hope this helped.

Also why aren't you nerds trying topical bicalutamide? I was talking to someone on reddit who reminded me of it. Bica is an NSAA, it's in the same family of drugs as RU58841 and enzalutamide (both of which work as topicals) but safer and cheaper. That significantly reduces the dosage needed. Hemmingway_the_mercenary tried it, said he had gyno signs, but I don't believe he was on raloxifene at that point

where are people ordering raloxifene from?
I have it prescribed because my doctor is awesome. But you can find it on websites that sell steroids. Steroid users sometimes use it - excess T levels increases E levels, so guys are steroids are prone to gyno. I can't remember the website right now cus I'm falling asleep and google seems to derank them. Try searching "bodybuilding raloxifene" or "anabolics raloxifene" and follow the rabbit hole until you find the shady roid shops.

I'm on finasteride but it doesn't work, I started it 14 months ago when I started balding (17.5) I'm 19 now, what should I do?

jeremychang

In my opinion, don’t even bother with 5AR inhibitors if you are balding before the age of twenty...

DHTcel or Ikarus, did you actually just make a fake “Jeremy wang” profile and give me 80 dislikes on my posts? I checked the log and it took you AN HOUR to do it.

I’m genuinely laughing because it’s beyond hilarious someone had the time to make a fake profile and go through all my posts and dislike every single one of them. talk about wasting your life. Thanks for the laugh. It’s genuinely made my day.

That's definitely not me. I would much rather die than waste an hour looking back on your responses.

And I feel bad for the person in the picture that DHTcel has used. Using somebody’s picture to post on forums and trash talk about how he looks. you’re absolute scum DHTcel and I don’t hesitate for a moment to say that.
