A weak article on a significant issue, but has a few interesting pieces. For example, Pater Thiel said silicon valley was horrified by the Trump tapes in part because none of them are having sex. There are also a few fun quotes:

What are we actually talking about, David has always had self-esteem in abundance. I would cite him as literally the most real and self-assured person on here, despite some set backs in his life he is the ice man in his outlook, completely realistic with his goals and how his basic human needs and emotions may affect them. It's almost robotic in how a person could balance their mentality, and acknowledging the weakness of basic human emotions, which we all have, is suddenly a lack of self-esteem?

But he swore at someone which he normally doesn't do, he wrote "f***". So now he's a changed man. OK.

One thing is for sure when David meets a girl who knows him like we do, they'll both be very happy.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I think I've always used profanity for one. Two, part of the reason I was pissed at Cope is that I woke up at 530am and I had nothing to do but read HairLossTalk.com on my cell phone, in that state I had little patience for mediocre posts.

I do not have high self-esteem at all. I'm aware of my numerous failings. I have a long thread on weight loss issues, a long thread on ED, and a 100-page thread on failing to get dates. I can assure you my self esteem is average at best.

While I know what you mean (in relation to Zircon as Fred's transition was before my time) David has had highs in lows in terms of getting dates, and like I say, he's the ice man. That's not to say he isn't human, but always practical and realistic, even when it comes to experiencing his own emotions, but in my opinion he has never shown a flinch of devaluing his worth as a person, regardless of how he may be viewed to the outside world, girls, whatever. He understands it's down to circumstance and the world we live in, not him as a human being, and that's incredibly important and something we all could learn from.

I don't think it's fair to put him in a box already and assume he's going to turn out like 1 or 2 examples of people on here, but at the same time I doubt David really gives a f***, so presume on if you feel like it.

For me you seem assured in who you are, more so than anyone else on here, you accept these "failings" as a part of that and how to gain acceptance and progress from it. To me that is self-esteem, it's not about what your value may be to others, it's the most important thing in life as ultimately in our own minds we are eternally alone, and you cope better with that than anyone else.

Maybe I did, but not in the past few weeks. I'm doing very poorly right now and am having trouble concentrating and it's harming my work performance. I would be crying right now if my tear ducts were bigger and there's a huge hole in my heart.
