Should I Become A Hat Prisoner To Hide My Bad Hairline Until I Can Afford A hair transplant?

Noticed a lot of non-balding guys around my college campus wearing those snapbacks all the time. I guess I could fit in by doing that.

How close are you to being able to afford a transplant?

Could be creating a worse situation for yourself by creating false expectations about your looks, and creating more of a shock factor for when the hat comes off

Probably better to wear a hat in moderation, so you are not a prisoner. Keep it off for first encounters

I agree once you start wearing one a lot its hard to stop from doing it all the time. I wear a hat literally everywhere now (not super proud of it but oh well), but I honestly can't say I'd prefer walking around with the way my hair is now. Only times I am not wearing a hat is when I am in my room, taking a shower, or have some presentation or something I can't wear a hat too. Obviously when I start working full-time I can't do this, but I don't think the hair loss will bother me quite as much when I am not on a college campus. At least when wearing a hat I am not thinking about my hair non-stop, and people just get used to you wearing a hat a lot. If you're at a college campus I don't think its a big deal, because people wear hats at college all the time.

If it makes you comfortable to wear a hat then go for it. Like others have said, it does come with some risks. At least when you show up without a hat, you are displaying your shame to the world. There will be no surprises. The thing about always wearing a hat is that sooner or later people(girls) will start to wonder what's up. And you cant hide forever. Sooner or later you have to take it off and the look in people's eyes can be deflating.

That's one "advantage" Americans have over us Europeans when it comes to hair loss.

In Europe you just can't wear hats, well you can but you'd have to stop at a point because you would be sick of the constant comments and laughing at your workplace.

This comment reflects the terrible weather you northern Eurocucks have to put up with.

It pretty much is here too. Even places like Walmart have dress codes.
Actually, if they work in the garden center at Walmart, they can wear hats. A few do in my area and they are thick NW1s.

I think it's also important to have a "hat personality", some guys don't carry hats well. I probably haven't worn one since I was 12 and it really wouldn't suit me.

Wear it I guess but don't delude yourself into thinking this is the big answer. People will still sense it and besides, you want them to sense it, you don't literally want to hide it like a secret. Then the big reveal is all the more humiliating.

If you're in agreement with me here, you're essentially wearing the hat but still don't want to hide your baldness? Makes the point kind of redundant doesn't it?

Is it because you have diffuse hair that looks different daily and under different conditions? Meaning you have good days and bad with people staring?

I can't due to a dislocated shoulder, I have to wait for surgery than recovery. Even then, I'm a very skinny ectomorph with narrow shoulders and small wrists, even if I wanted gymcelling couldn't help me in any way.
I'm an ectomorph too or was, some dedication and consistency can go a long way. Shoulder injuries suck though when it comes to lifting especially. Once you're healed if you put on size, focusing on your shoulders you can create an illusion where you seem bigger than you are. Build them traps and side deltoids and you're gold.

I'm 25 already, I'll have to wait 2 more years, at this point there's no use in bothering, I never practiced any sport and it would hardly make a difference, I doubt you're as skinny as I am.
Never too late man. That's the thing about lifting, takes very little athleticism. No I'm not skinny but I was once upon a time.

Ohh please, just look at your mentor. He's cherishing the lifestyle now. Passiveness will keep you at this vicious circle, action leads to change.

I don't really care to convince anyone but just so it's known, guys who've had no athletic experience whatsoever can put on the most muscle (though leaving it until a guys in his 30s isn't advisable as testosterone and HGH lowers severely). Your muscle fibres won't be used to the stress of breaking down, so will rebel against it recovering faster than say, a guy who lifts once or twice a week since he was a kid.
