Nice, there is that bromance I was talking about now. I like the conversing going on now between you and Fred.
That is because you are one of the most positive and supportive members on this forum. I would hang out with you anytime.House and I never had that conflict. -)
Speaking of Skiba..... He writes some wickedly poetic and dark lyrics (to go over those brilliant melodies).
Do you think his own hairloss played a part in his whole attitude to life in general?
I mean his lyrics are very neurotic, I love most of them.
But it can't of been easy for him to be balding at early 20's.
While also fronting a band that was just starting to gain wider exposure.
Would like your opinion on Matt Skiba's journey.
Let's agree we just have different perceptions here.
I think some guys look better shaved than with hair.
And you think mid-length hair is always better than a shaved head.
I just don't understand why you have to constantly put me down about my appearance.
I don't show much of myself on my pictures, yet you manage to comment negatively on practically every feature you can spot.
My "not masculine" outline, my forehead, my head shape, my skinny body, my paleness, my thin hair, my ears.
Why are you doing this? Do you feel good putting others down?
When you've always been handsome, even a small hit to your looks can hurt a lot psychologically.
Dan Andriano was the guy who went bald in his early 20s. Matt Skiba lost his hair much more slowly, he's in his 40s now I think, and shaves, but in his 30s he was definitely balding, and still making it work, Dan had no choice but to shave, and yeah, I bet hair loss really played into the angst, go listen to "My standard break from life", probably also hit Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins...
It was
Wow, Lebron, thanks for sharing the love. I don't think you and I have really interacted too much but I really appreciate the invitation.I share those same feelings with you too House
We should ball up sometime. Come down to Akron, Ohio.
That being said, I don't know what comment you made about Wolf Pack's looks that you deleted, but I can tell you that we have exchanged pictures, and in all truthfulness, he could easily walk a runway if he were a bit taller--he's that good looking. He actually plays himself down when he mentions his features. I am positive women half my age would agree with me. I'll bet you guys don't look nearly as bad as some of you perceive yourselves to be.
That's basically what happened to uncomfortable man. He's a handsome man, and his experience with Male Pattern Baldness becoming a Norwood 5 caused him serious psychological pain. I've seen a couple pictures of him in one of his threads he made, he is handsome even being bald. In other words, the point is like you made, the slightest hit to looks when one is good looking becomes a huge deal. Of course, becoming a Norwood 5 after having a full head of hair is a serious change in appearance for anyone.
That's nice Joan. I am touched you think that. I don't like showing my pictures but since you trusted me with yours, I felt like I owed you one back. A username to a face and all that. For the record, Joan is an example of how good looks never fade, especially if you don't neglect yourself and are blessed with good ageing genetics like her. You simply take on a more mature look which adds to the character of the person. You have a nice defined face and I hope you remain happy I think some people would be surprised with how youthful you look, given as you keep mentioning your older. I find her posts and opinions to be of very high value, especially to do with looks/dating, she really knows her stuff. I tend to judge the quality of ones posts, age is absolutely irrelevant.
I do remember Swing saying once we should have a thread with a picture of ourselves, even if a lot of our face is scrubbed out. It still helps putting a face to a username. I realise it's quite public though. Although most people have shared something or another, so you can relate to them a bit.
It seems like the forum attracts all kinds of different people. I suppose we all get something out of here, or we wouldn't post. For me, hair loss signals a premature end to what makes me who I am. In my mind anyway. Plus it's dealing with one thing after another, eventually it adds up even if the battle is easy.
In short, I love this community, even the Belgian

I didn't know he had a thread up. I need to take a look at some point. I think the potential loss of identity and how you see your looks is a major part of it for me. I wish more people would talk about it.
Nothing happens. You can shave it sly too. You will still be healthy inside, still get sex.

Thank you, Wolf Pack, for making this "old lady's" day!
As far as "the Belgian", I know some will disagree, but you just can't help but to be drawn to him, no matter what he says. Fred, I'd love to be your mom for a couple of days (Hellouser's too, for that matter). Do you ever share your philosophies with your mom, Fred? It's the reverse with me--my kids think I'm warped.
