So What's Wrong With Being Confident Again?

No need to hire anyone. My girlfriend will take care of the cooking.

She hates cleaning too so we'll just hire a maid every few weeks, you can deduct it from your taxes here in Belgium.

Yes, I've really thought everything through.

I'll move out to start my own family.

Every few weeks?! LOL, a home needs cleaning way more often than that, unless you like to live in dirt.

I've had many different living arrangements, including living in an apartment by myself for about a year, and it was great, I enjoyed it, especially being able to walk around naked and take a sh*t with the door wide open.

Right now my priority is purchasing a full head of hair. It's more important to me than "establishing my independence." It will take me a while to pay it off. Living with my parents and saving my money for now is the right thing to do

I did this when I lived with other people too, you know, to show dominance.

Of course it's the right thing to do. You can't really put a price on a full head of hair. But if you are financially stable, and could move out if you wanted to, I don't get why some people stay with their parents until approaching their 30's. It might be a cultural thing, and here in Norway people are seen as losers if they don't move out "in time". I don't know what things are like in Belgium.

I don't think it necessarily has to be a black and white thing. If some people choose to stay with their parents, even if they have financial stability, and their parents are happy to have them, why does it have to be an issue? It's that person's choice. It's also your choice to live independently of your parents, and we can respect that as well.

Again, might be a cultural thing. It's been imprinted on my mind how much of a loser I was for living with my parents at 23. Anyway, I don't really care how Fred chooses to live his life. Sure, if I were him I'd moved out long ago, but I'm not so whatever.

I bought my own place last year. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Had to work for a little over two years saving up cash for the downpayment as well as renovations and furniture, but it's definitely a great decision. I'm paying off my own mortgage instead of someone else's.

If I move out, I'll lose 10000€ a year for 0 tangible benefit.

People always say they bought a house like they bought a new smartphone.

Newsflash, the house belongs to the bank. It will be yours in 20 (25? 30?) years, with a lot of ifs until then.

You pay rent now and you're pissing it away by not building equity but someone else's. Yeah, the place technically belongs to the bank right now but if I want to sell I can 'bank' on it as well. Property is expensive in the Toronto area and my place has already gone up in value and will continue to do so as my neighbourhood is expanding REALLY fast and turning into the next 'downtown Toronto'.

I already see my colleagues taking 3 weeks off, not to travel no, to do renovations! Just lol.

So what? You think they're taking off the time because they're slaves or because they want to? I actually like the fact that I renovated my place and it's to MY liking. I don't care if you laugh at that... I'm the one that's got my own place and will be living on 'rent free' eventually.

Here, guys are talking who is Independent and who is standing on his/her feet.

In India, the families that that have been together, stick together are RICH AF.
They have the status,respect,power,Name,Fame,Everything.and $$$$$.
Just name is enough.

Once I was on bike while my friend was driving it,because of my friend,we got into accident with a guy who was 6 plus feet, son of a don.
He then started threatening me giving threats,i called my father at that time.
he started introducing himself and started bragging his name,my told him your father is my friend,he than called him and then this guy just went into silent mode...

I was 15 years old that time.
I suffered injury, got stitches on Right Toe.

To live in your own house instead of renting is long term decision.
It will surely make people happy.

If one cannot buy a house at a likable and preferred place,at least buy a house/flat at a Emerging place, rent that place, use that rent to live in a preferred high costly area.Emerging area flat will soar in prices and this will be win win situation.

That's exactly what I got;

A small condo thats 4km away from work and my area is booming; lots of new business are opening up as well as a major streetcar line is being built on the street which also happens to be the busiest one in the city. Similarly sized places in my building already cost about $40,000 more (but I get the super high ceiling where as the others dont have them). The rent I'd have to pay for my place or any other place in the areas would only be MARGINALLY less expensive than what it costs me to pay off my mortgage (about 10% difference). Bonus; I own my place, i renovated it to look like I want it to which I absolutely love so much that it's a total pleasure coming home.

It has nothing to do with being cool, it's just smart.

My girlfriend lives with her parents too, same for most of my friends.

It's about keeping your money for other things than renting some space where you can rot on your own.

You are not independent.

Independent means you don't owe anything to anyone.

Why don't you stop showing up at work? Oh you can't? I thought you were independent?

Apparently I'm not the only one who has trouble detaching himself from his own situation.

Be honest Evil, you would not be able to afford that apartment without your grandmother's inheritance.

My place and her place are not forbidden, I did the same with my ex.

It's just awkward when my father earsdrop while we have sex.

Other than that, it's cool.
Those curves, and tight waist of hers will open many doors

Money is the best way to cope. I enjoy bearing the fruits of my labour.
